NFL Trade Deadline Rumors, including Bourne and Agholar

Bears have been trading away all their good players and then trade for Claypool. I get why they would want a receiver for Fields. Don't get why you totally gut your team and then trade to get better in season.

I am always weary of trading for Steeler receivers. A lot of them do great in Pittsburgh and don't perform nearly as well when they leave.
In listening to Cowherd today, prior to the Claypool trade, he said the Bears strategy would be to surround Fields with playmakers like what the Eagles have done with Hurts and the Chiefs with Mahomes. This would be step one in that plan

I'd happily take most of the guys that have been successful and left PITT.

Emmanuel Sanders had over 100 receptions a few years after Pitt, Hines Ward was very good on Jets, Mike Wallace was great for MIA/BAL, Smith-Schuster is on pace for 1000 yards this year for KC.

Antonio Brown was a dumpster fire.... but he was traded BECAUSE of those issues in Pittsburgh and was destined to go off the rails no matter where he went.

Add MIA with Tua, Hill, Waddle, Gesicki...

Guess we'll see how successful the "stars and scrubs" approach is over the next few years.

The bears are such idiots. Giving up a higher 2nd rd pick for chase claypool than the one they got for roquan smith?? The heck

Agree I still can’t believe we weren’t in on that Smith trade.
This reminds me when we were in on the Diggs trade but wouldn’t do a first.

Honestly a trade doesn't make that much sense since most teams would be asking Pats to retain some of his cap hit....

IMO just better to use him as a swing OT and G for rest of season and let him walk. We are in better shape cap-wise next year anyhow.
He is an OK backup on the left side. I still don't like him as a backup at RT, but I guess he's fine for a switch during a game. I suspect that belichick was Ok with what he saw yesterday, with Wynn in 6 OL situations.

The bottom line is that Wynn provides value as a backup, given that we have no other backup OG's and only Cajuste as a backup LT. Folks presumed that we would need to acquire another OT if we traded Wynn. I guess that didn't happen.

Chase Claypool is better than any WR on the Pats Roster nuff said!

Agholor may still be a possibility. With Parker-Thornton-Myers-Bourne, I wouldn't be giving Agholor many touches.
