NFL should do away with Thursday night games

I agree it's a bit much, but what are you going to watch on a Thursday night anyway? If they had a game on every night I would probably end up watching it. I blame fantasy football

The same league going thru the motions of player safety greatly reducing contact practices adds Thursday night games where players have violent contact again after just 4 days. Hypocrites.

Worse yet, the games suck. Bigtime.

i like Thursday night football, cant get enough football . . .

I know a few of you have mentioned injuries due to the 4 day rest, etc . . . but you all are just looking at one side of the coin . . . as there are only 4 days between games, there are a whole 10 games between the Thursday night game and the followng weekend game, thereby creating a mini-bye week allowing teams and players to rest up for the rest of the season and help heal any injuries as they have an extra 3 days rest before the next game . . . so the argument works both ways people . . .

Player safety goes out the window when revenue is involved.

What does that have to do with Thursday night games? I don't know of any evidence that those are more dangerous to player safety.

The NFL tends to leave Saturday to college football during its season.

Believe it or not, I believe that's actually required by law.

It is difficult to schedule teams based on "last year's performance"

Teams change from season to season and last years great team could be this year's dud.

Good point. Just remember the ridiculous situation we had 5 years ago when the Giants played the Patriots on the final game of the regular season. I know that wasn't a Thursday night game, but it was an NFL Network game which so many people wanted to see that they gave it to both network nationally - all all 3 network locally.
