I wonder how many of the same people who want mathews are the same who would wanted carpenter a few years back. Sorry don't want a guy in the first who was the 3 rd best lb on his own team. Bloodlines don't really mean much in the NFL. Just like all the barwin people who are so incestous that any one compared to a patriot is drooled over. Seriously who cares if he play tight end too this team needs a pure pass rusher. Not to say barwin in the 2nd would be bad but not At 23. English is the pick that would really start my draft day on the right foot. but to each his own.
I agree with your entire argument, and also believe Larry English would make a nice selection for NE at either 23, or 34. Watching that video BOR posted, it seems both Mayock and Charles have similar opinions of English. Mayock believes he's among the top pass rushers in the draft, and projects better at OLB than Woodley who went in the mid-second round of the 2007 draft.
