This brings back up the age-old dialogue about whether better protection, or less protection, would reduce head trauma. Some have advocated removing the helmets altogether, because the primary leverage is to get players to play with self awareness about their heads being vulnerable. Others have gone in this direction - more and better protection.
The only people I don't trust in this conversation are the ones with certainty.
They could put metal spikes on the INSIDE of the defender's helmets so they wouldn't use their head as a missile/weapon.
