Miami Adds In-game Strategist to Bolster Analytics Staff:
The Miami Dolphins are continuing to buy into the value of analytics, hiring Matt Sheldon as their director of football research and strategy. He had the Bears job as the director of analytics and football research for the past two years.

Sheldon will work on in-game strategy with the coaching staff. Miami has already added a couple of coaches in the sports science and analytics department, with Wayne Diesel, the Dolphins’ sports performance director, and Dennis Lock, the team’s director of analytics."

Interesting that it seems everyone is trying to duplicate what the Pats have had in Ernie Adams since 2000. While I am flattered that more and more teams are trying to model their operations on what the Pats have done, I can't help but worry that the coaching and preparation gap the Pats have enjoyed the last 18 years might be eroding as teams like the Dolphins try and catch up.

Pats will be ok as long as another team doesn't poach Ernie...they still have BB and Brady...tough combo to beat
