The Patriots are not eliminated from the playoffs, but their chances certainly don't look good after Thursday night's loss.

Pats were realistically eliminated after the Texans loss. Winning out was never going to happen.

Now they're playing to continue their NFL record .500 or better season streak. That's doable.

The Patriots are truly the definition of a team that does not deserve to be in the playoffs. Wildly inconsistent, neanderthal prehistoric offense, defense that can not stop a good running game and terrible coaching.

A mathematician's formula for how the Patriots can still make the playoffs:

Does BG write his own headline too?

"Difficult shape"...Ya think?

Bill Belichick has a monumental task ahead of him. He has been losing numerous good players
to free agency and his drafts have not produced enough players to replace them. The shortage
of inexpensive draftees has deprived him of the cap space necessary to invest in a few high end
expensive free agents.
Next March, BB will have more cap space. Will he use some of that money to re-sign a few of his own
good players or will he let them test free agency like he has in recent years? This policy will produce
more weaknesses to fill.

Real keen observation: "difficult shape." Is that how you refer to 0% chance of being relevant for probably multiple seasons? The roster is a total disaster. You can thank the genius.

The Bills already are in a position to be better than the Pats in the foreseeable future. The Dolphins are building toward that. And the Jets are tanking for Trevor Lawrence. The Patriots may be the worst team in their division by the start of next season.
