Patriots-Seahawks Week 2, Key Matchups: Who Has the Razor's Edge?

The Patriots travel to Seattle for their first away game of the 2020 season and have a very tough matchup with the Seahawks. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the crowd noise from the Seattle well-known “12th Man” will not be a factor as there will not be any fans allowed in the stadium.

This is how I see it too, and with a very similar score to my PTS entry...

Lockett & Metcalf: Why can't we get guys like that? Oh wait...

I disagree that Seattle's WRs have an edge over our secondary. Metcalf and Lockett are a good pair of starters, but Gilmore and Jackson should be able to keep them in check, and Seattle's depth (Josh Gordon and Phillip Dorsett), well, I sure don't fear them.

The x-factor in this game will be both teams' abilities to set the edge, and to stay disciplined on RPO's. The defense that is able to keep its opposing QB in the pocket is more likely to succeed. I'd give Seattle an edge here due to the quality and experience of its LBs.

Another significant factor is the lack of the "12th man". Neutralizing the biggest home-field advantage in the league has to have an impact.

I'm still expecting a Pats loss, but a hard fought, message sending kind of loss. Kind of like the Rams game from the 2001 regular season.
