Well, we should be good on Special Teams.
probably worth a game or two compared to last year

It is huge to have a punter who is at least average with regard to net yards and within the 20.

It is huge to have a kicker who can kick out of the endzone or high in the air, as required.

It is huge to be able to have a very high expectation of FG success 45 yards out and further, opening up lots of play options.

It is huge to have a shot at 52+.

It is huge to be able to cover kicks (Board and Speed are solid improvements, as well as Davis if he is back).
================
And, yes, we need a backup punt returner.

WR (5) J.Smith-Schuster, K.Bourne, K.Boutte, D.Douglas, T.Thornton

Cut D. Parker, T. Nixon, L. Bowden

I don’t like Parker because he cannot separate from defenders. Everything thrown to him is a 50/50 ball. He is the worst in the league at getting separation for three years running. Parker is also 30. I am cheering for Boutte and Douglas to make an impact. If they do keep Parker and I have to choose between Douglas and Boutte, I am going with Douglas because he is likely to become the Kick-Off Return Specialist.
Firstly, good call not including Staler on the WR list. He's not a WR folks, not now, not ever.

Regarding your final depth chart, excluding Parker is a bold move, but I think it's extremely unlikely he gets cut. I honestly don't have JuJu as that much better than Parker, if at all, and I have them battling for the WR1 spot. I think a WR1, 2 & 3 of JuJu, Parker, and Bourne in whatever order is decent. I don't like Thornton at all and frankly your list is frightening because to me it looks a lot worse without Parker and Thornton remaining along with a two 6th round WRs at less than 6 feet and 200 pounds.

No way they cut Parker. Juju will probably miss some time at some point this year, at the very least the Pats need Parker for depth.

If you think the tackle play was bad last year, watch how ugly things get if you traded Brown. I'd bet that SOW is a lot more of a right tackle than a left tackle. Unless you are comfortable starting Anderson at LT then they can't afford to move Brown.

And you don't need to use draft picks on ANY of these people.

QB (2) M.Jones, B.Zappe

RB (5) R.Stevenson, J.Robinson, P.Strong, K.Harris, Zach Evans

WR (5) D.Parker, J.SmithSchuster, K.Bourne, Tyler Scott, AT Perry

TE (3) H.Henry, M.Gesicki, Chocolate Gronk

C (2) D.Andrews, Jarrett Patterson
G (3) C.Strange, M.Onwenu, C.Hines
T (5) C.Anderson, R.Reiff, Blake Freeland, C.McDermott, Dawand Jones

DE (4) M.Judon, D.Wise, K.White, Andre Carter II
DT (4) C.Barmore, D.Godchaux, L.Guy, Jerrod Clark

ILB (3) J.Bentley, M.Wilson, R.McMillan
OLB (4) J.Uche, A.Jennings, M.Mapu (drafted at 144 not 76), R.Perkins

CB (6) J.Mills, Jon.Jones, C.Gonzalez, Ja.Jones, Ma.Jones, Cory Trice
SS (2) K.Dugger, J.Peppers
FS (2) S.Wade, Darius Rush

ST (4) Slater, J.Cardona, N.Folk, B.Baringer (not drafted but signed as a UDFA)

Mapu may be on the PUP for a while to start the season. A pec injury is no joke.

Ameer Speed will not make the final cut unless he excels. The ST's are already deep with Board on board and hopefully a healthy return of Cody Davis. If Slater says Eff It and retires then maybe.

This is propably the best place for this, not worthy of a new thread.

While I think Lumpkin has a decent shot of making the team, I was curious what folks think of Scotty Washington. I was intrigued by his size and althleticism when the Pats signed him to their practise squad last year. He actually played in a game and was placed on IR shortly thereafter. I don't watch college ball anymore but he seemed to put up decent numbers at Wake Forest. For folks who watched him play is he a legitimate dark horse candidate for TE or just another workout warrior?

Yes. Most here refuse to accept the reality that the supply of guys who can kick footballs professionally vastly exceeds the demand.

Meanwhile, tall, strong men with 33+ arms are in extremely short supply.

So when Bill pulled the panic arm and traded his 120 to move up to 112, the Jets used that pick on LT Carter Warren. Who may make them happy esp when such a fuss has been made over the first round maneuvering keeping them away from Broderick Jones.

And you are right. We should have demanded 80 from the Steelers.

Agreed... Isaiah Bolden has a MUCH better chance of making the 53 than this non-"Cornerback." Terrible, TERRIBLE pick.
