Apologies if this is the wrong place to post it.

I am getting a new Patriots jersey, and am looking for some help in deciding between two.

A home Wes Welker, or a red Tom Brady.

I have a home and away Brady, but would also love to acquire the throwback.

However, I am a huge Welker fan as well, and have long wanted a Welker jersey.

What to do.....

If you don't already have a throwback....you need one.
Maybe a red Welker???

Yeah get a red Welker

If you go with the throwback.....will it be the 1960's version or the 1980's version?

60's version http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://cache.boston.com/resize/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2009/09/14/1252981692_9843/539w.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/articles/2009/09/15/mayo_injures_knee_status_unknown/&usg=__13NBmg4CRPUtvZoiBrLGvaKpAQw=&h=404&w=539&sz=39&hl=en&start=345&zoom=1&tbnid=eRJJNdxJ-ZMU_M:&tbnh=160&tbnw=215&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwes%2Bwelker%2Bpatriot%2Bthrowback%2Bjersey%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1734%26bih%3D817%26tbs%3Disch:11%2C7021&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=974&vpy=445&dur=3573&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=113&ty=107&ei=wiMfTZ3bB8SAlAfX9fDHBQ&oei=tSMfTZPwHIGKlwfR29naCw&esq=11&page=11&ndsp=35&ved=1t:429,r:22,s:345&biw=1734&bih=817

80's version http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://static.nfl.com/static/content/catch_all/nfl_image/w_welker_101031_IA.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81bd1535/article/patriots-pulling-off-rare-feat-of-winning-while-rebuilding&usg=__UIlKZ4iVq_sUorgi95MwVhcYIG8=&h=200&w=300&sz=21&hl=en&start=39&zoom=1&tbnid=a7IkIwhKFUFTmM:&tbnh=146&tbnw=195&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwes%2Bwelker%2Bpatriot%2Bthrowback%2Bjersey%2Bthanksgiving%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1734%26bih%3D817%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C798&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=1135&vpy=544&dur=982&hovh=160&hovw=240&tx=105&ty=81&ei=CSQfTeayG8SclgfB-q3MBA&oei=BCQfTa_9GoKglAemmOHWCw&esq=2&page=2&ndsp=36&ved=1t:429,r:33,s:39&biw=1734&bih=817

imo....The 80's version looks better on TV...but the 60's version looks better in person. And I'm guessing you won't be on TV ;-)

Never buy quarterback jerseys.

Why is that?

I can't speak for him but, to me, QB jerseys seem to be something I see women or youngins wearing more than men. It's not something I consciously think about and I don't think it would stop me from buying one if I really wanted to, but the last QB jersey I bought was in 1994, when I was a teenager.

That, and I played DE in HS, and consequently saw QBs as prey? Maybe that has something to do with it? :confused2:

Danny Woodhead has a jersey suggestion for you

Ah, I see. The "b!tch factor". I remember hearing that argument before as a reason not to wear ANY replica jerseys aside from cheerleader girlfriends at high school football games or what have you. I suppose that's one way of looking at it.

I prefer to see it as "he's a Patriot", and I'm comfortable enough in my masculinity not to worry what those who consider themselves above this fashion trend think. Heck, I even have a couple of Vinatieri jerseys (both gifts, no idea why one Vinatieri wasn't enough). Considering Brady is the greatest Patriot to ever put on a uniform, I think most grown men that choose to wear his jersey should be cut some slack. But it's interesting to hear from others, there's no right or wrong here.

Oh, I have no issue with people wearing it. For some reason though, I've never been compelled to buy a Brady jersey and TFB is one of, if not my all-time favorite Pat. Calling it the "***** factor" is pretty funny, though.

Why is that?

It's hard to accurately articulate but I just don't like what comes with quarterbacks. I suppose to some degree that it is the "b!tch factor", and I too view QB jerseys for kids and chicks. I don't see that as having a negative connotation, just a different one. QB's are the golden boys. They're overly protected by the rules, they make the most money, they get the majority of the glory in a decidedly team sport. They're the only player outside of kickers and punters whose job does not entail physically beating the bag out of someone. They seldom are hit and even more infrequently hit someone else. Perhaps most importantly they are the most recognizable player on the team.

Now, in the context of TFB, I am shamelessly enamored with his play and leadership. I love that he went from 199 to the GOAT. I love how he plays hurt. He is as unquarterback as a quarterback gets. That said, I'd still never wear his or any other QB's jersey. Playing 12 years of defense probably plays a huge role in that as well.

Can't wait for the Nike jerseys to come out next season.. I'm not a big fan of Reebok.

I'd get a red Welker jersey though

Lotta fail in this thread

fact, my Brady jersey > your jersey

QB jerseys are usually the safest bet. Brady will most likely never put on another Jersey in his life and his legacy is pretty much sealed. Can't say the same for any other player on the Pats beside maybe Faulk.

It's hard to accurately articulate

Maybe it's not "working class" enough to wear a QB jersey, and lacks a certain street cred? And/or it's too easy to pick the QB -- if you picked a lineman's jersey, maybe this suggests an image of a more nitty-gritty, knowledgeable fan.

Personally, doesn't matter to me, but thought I'd see if that's more of what Jay might be saying.

Next year will still be Reebok. 2012 will be Nike.

Exactly why I'm a guy who wears a Brady jersey. Doesn't hurt that I share those traits either. I'll wave to ya as I pass by the neanderthal rock pile. How's that?

Sounds awesome! Can't wait to crap in my hand and chuck it at you as I show my canines and puff out my chest!

Oh, and by the way dude, to claim to share those traits on the Internet is really telling.
