I haven't done much in Photoshop in years. I was playing around tonight in Photoshop however and decided to see what I can do. I learned how to do the black and white effect tonight which is what you can see on this. I did this at 1920x1080 so that way it can be used on HDTVs even at 1080p along with Widescreen monitors and such.

Anyways.... my first question right now is does a font exsist for the Patriots logo? Or at least a method to do a look a like of the Patriots font so I can add names and what not to make it look a bit more Patriots official?

Thanks in advance for any info/advice in advance everyone. I hope to become better at doing stuff in Photoshop outside of a few basics I can do right now.

The text in the cursive Patriots logo is probaby hand drawn the first time and has been artwork since.

A good font for a football look is Preston. It is blocky and looks like the numbers on a jersey.

You can also look for some free fonts here

Clean up the white spots around the logo, drop the logo down a bit more possibly.

Question, what is the original size of that Brady pic?

Overall pretty good stuff!

I like it. It is much simpler than what some people try to do, which is great. I think it is a little grainy and there are some white spots that need to be cleaned up, but other than it's nice.

That's one thing I have always had problems with in Photoshop is trying to clean up stuff like that around logos.

Are there any better methods to remove the white around a logo like that besides the magic wand tool?

Obviously it had to be cropped a bit for it to work at 16x9. The original source is also a bit grainy as well. I know there are ways to reduce said grainyness which is something I should learn how to do next.

Also I placed the logo where it is for Windows desktops so its above the taskbar. I can always do another version with the logo lower for other uses as well once the other issues are taken care of.

And finally thanks for all the good words so far on this. It means a lot to me.

I'm not that great with photoshop so maybe someone else can give more advice but I use the Polygonal Lasso tool to cut stuff. It seems to be the easiest method to remove the background from a picture.

I just did this quickly so the curves aren't that smooth but you can see that the edges are cleaner than the way you did it.
