NBA Draft - Trades - Free Agents

The Horford contract has $97M guaranteed and $12M in bonuses tied to championships, league sources tell ESPN.

They’re expected to be more active now. Hoping for Beal as well then praying Herro can shoot the ball. Shame to give up Richardson. That was a good piece of Philly to acquire.

  • Richardson and Horford in
  • Butler and Reddick out

Given the rest of the team and the system fits, Philly may actually have come out ahead with that.

76ers current projected starting 5:

Embid
Horford
Harris
Richardson
Simmons

Not really. Horford is breaking down and needs management. Butler was huge in the playoffs and Reddick was a pest running all over the place. I’d say net neutral.

Horford got tendonitis, and it lingered. That's what tendonitis does, regardless of your age. And Philly has the players to allow both Embid and Horford to take management days.

Big Al will have earned almost $200 mill from his last 2 contracts and delivered 13 points and 7 rebounds

They badly needed the shooting, and they got that with Richardson. He’s not Butler by a long shot, but he has some big games in him.

Yes. And, Butler may be a better overall player than Horford (I'm not arguing for or against that proposition), but Horford should be a great fit for a team who's got a point guard that can't shoot for ****, but loves to press the lane.

If his health holds up? Absolutely.

Philly going big to counter the dawning of Taco Time

DeAndre Jordan has agreed to four-year, $40M deal with the Nets, Excel Sports agent Jeff Schwartz tells ESPN.

When the Knicks traded Porzingis I immediately thought “if this leads to Julius Randle and Taj Gibson you make this move.”

Free agents Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are taking less than the max to allow DeAndre Jordan to get the $10M annual salary with Brooklyn, league sources tell ESPN.

Bottom line is Ainge did no feel Horford was worth that much money now.
Ainge is seeing the Celtics run for the title a few years from now.

They do?

Could be the slowest team in the nba

Oh well ... we're on to training camp.
