He is getting just the regular max from Boston. How can he get a ''supermax''? I tought only his team (with ''birth'' rights) was allowed to give him a supermax.

ProBasketballTalk: Kemba Walker reportedly told Hornets he will sign with Celtics when free agency opens
Front office seems to know what it wants to do..... I like the person in the player.... they will be entertaining ...even more so if they bring in Enes the menace
I’d prefer somebody a little better defensively than Kanter (which is basically everybody). Maybe somebody like Richaun Holmes, he is a free agent that could probably be acquired with the mid level.

I don't hate the signing. He's not quite as good as Kyrie, but he might be better in the long run IF the C's gel into a more cohesive team with Walker at the helm. So it looks like the loss of Irving was quickly and adequately filled.
But here's the thing. With Walker getting a "supermax" deal, how are the C's going to fill the gaps that Horford, Morris, and Bane have left. Seems to me all they have left to start filling ALL those gaps is Robert Williams and a mid level exemption.
Scoring is NOT going to be a big issue with Walker, Brown, Tatum, and Hayard on the team. However where are the rebounds, inside scoring, and rim defense going to come from. I'm still wondering why Banes was let go for so little, when it seemed like when he was hurt the C's struggled on D, and when he was healthy, it was much better.
BUT, like I said, all the moves that will happen next week, will not end the long off season for the C's. Danny is like Bill in a sense that he has made a lot of good moves for the C's late in the off season as well as during the season.
Back in 2008 after the C's made a big splash acquiring Allen and Garnett, Ainge brought on 3 vets pretty late in the process, Cassal, Posey, and Brown, all of whom made big contributions during that playoff run.
EuroLeague power forward Nicolo Melli is finalizing a two-year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, sources tell ESPN. Melli, 28, was the top scorer in the EuroLeague Finals for Fenerbahce last season.
According to The Sacramento Bee (@sacbee_news), Horford is receiving a "massive offer" from the Kings after the opening bell on free agency sounds at 6 PM
If Celtics can (i) convince Nets to take in Kyrie Irving via S&T and (ii) convince a suitor to take Terry Rozier into room via S&T, they could potentially acquire Kemba Walker at $32.7M max in a 3-team trade AND keep free agent rights to everyone (Al Horford, Marcus Morris, etc)
This remains quite unlikely, but Albert knows cap mechanics as well as anyone. So feast away, Celtics twitter...
There are some league executives that believe the "mystery team" for Al Horford is...the Boston Celtics. But keeping Horford's rights would require a number of complicated maneuvers, including a double sign-and-trade involving Kemba Walker and Terry Rozier. It wouldn't be easy.
Per source: For now, Al Horford has not scheduled any meetings with teams.
Also in here, I think Robin Lopez at the room exception (starts at $4.6M) would be a great fit as the pancake screener for Kemba Walker.
Despite the Kings' significant interest in Al Horford and plans to make a massive offer, a source tells @TheAthletic that they are under the impression he's likely heading elsewhere.
Once free agency opens at 6 PM ET, center Jonas Valanciunas is expected to commit to a three-year, $45M contract to return to the Memphis Grizzlies, league sources tell ESPN.
Since the Celtics renounced their rights over Rozier, isn’t any Rozier sign n trade scenario moot?
Since the Celtics renounced their rights over Rozier, isn’t any Rozier sign n trade scenario moot?
Curiously
Does it mean something good for the Celtics? Probably not. But it is potentially an open door.
From average Al to Kemba Al.
Sources: Boston's showing interest in a 3-team sign-and-trade w/ Kyrie Irving (Nets), Kemba Walker (Celtics) and Terry Rozier (Hornets). Boston wants to create a full MLE and would likely need to surrender at least a first-round pick to Nets. So far, talks are exploratory.
Report: Celtics renounce rights to Terry Rozier, making him an unrestricted free agentCs tendered him ... as of right now he’s an rfa ... same with theis
