NBA Draft - Trades - Free Agents

I dont get how Patriots fans can't respect GSW. They are greatness, just like our Patriots.

Knicks get the 3rd pick in the draft lol

Funny how quiet the "draft lottery is fixed!" folk are this evening....

Don’t see this anywhere in the thread so assume it wasn’t posted yet.

New Orleans won the lottery and gets #1 overall pick (almost certain to be Zion.)

My guess is Davis just became a whole lot more available.

Or maybe a sign and trade of Kyrie Irving for Jrue Holiday? (Not happening but I would be much more excited about this than trading the farm for AD).

They’re nothing like the Patriots. The Pats don’t beat their opponents to submission by having 15 All Pro players on the team. We’ve had sustained excellence for 20 years by having two cornerstones and a revolving door for everyone else. Culture and discipline. The Warriors had two great years where they won one title with homegrown talent and then completely ruined any parity when Durant went there. That wasn’t enough they had to get Cousins as well.

Of course they’re great, they have 5 all stars in their starting line-up. They lose two of them temporarily and they still win games without any issue which demonstrates how stacked they are.

I completely agree with you on your point about how the two teams differ, but at least for me its hard not respecting them. They are so dominant that you could bet your car before the season starts that Warriors will win the title and likely be right. I think including this season, Curry wins 2-3 more titles.

This isn't exactly true. The Pats have had not only a great coach-QB combo but some elite players roll through like Gronk, Welker, Moss, Dillon, Law, Harrison, Chung, McCourty, Hightower, etc.

Same with the Warriors. Yes they picked up good other pieces but the core of Curry Thompson and Draymond is elite, the core is key.

The Pats had great players, sure, but not all at the same time. Football has 22 starters on offense+defense, it’s impossible to stack a team with stars without weakening other parts of the team. Basketball has 5 and all of the Warriors starters are all stars and all of them have been an All NBA team member in the past 2 years. They have 5 Top 15-20 players in their starting 5.

They’re not just good pieces. Durant is a Top 3 player in the league, it can be argued the most unstoppable player in the league. He outplayed Lebron two finals in a row. Cousins was second team All NBA in 2015 and 2016 before he got injured last year.

The Warriors core is excellent but they won one title with it and it took 6 games to beat the Cavs without Kyrie and Love for that title. Everything post Durant is just not worth discussing. It can’t even be compared to football simply because the best, most valuable players are the QB’s so they can’t team-up. Durant going to the Warriors was akin to Mahomes coming to the Pats after losing a close conference finals to that team and being able to play both Brady and Mahomes at the same time. While also having Antonio Brown and prime Gronk.

yeah...but the patriots and warriars have the same amount of great pieces, in a 12 man roster vs a 53 man roster

Nothing can stop the Warriors. Maybe the league will finally be interesting when Durant leaves.

pre-pick in NYC...heard on FAN.."We're getting Zion! GAA GAA GOONY FOR US!!! YAY!!!!"....half hour later when the Knucks get slotted third "meh..Williamson is one dimensional...never wanted him anyway...another bust waiting to happen...gar grack snork snaffle"

Warriors are a great organization this decade. All great teams get sort of lucky. When they signed Curry in 2012 he was just a up and coming player. Had him and his agent known what he was going to become it would of been different. Biggest bargain contract in the NBA, maybe ever. Thus enabling them to load up with Durant. Now that Curry signed his MVP deal last summer, Durant is on his way out. To be honest, I’m surprised he honored that contract in this day and age.

The Warriors are a much more interesting team to watch without Durant. It’s so graceful the way they move the ball and all the players gel so perfectly. I’ll be glad when KD leaves...nothing against him as he might be the best player in the NBA - the dynamic is just different.

Word on the street is that Danny is going kiss Kyrie's you know what to stay and pursue Davis. So one of either Tatum/Brown plus Draft picks will have to go.
word on the st? the local homeless people?

You get to watch Klay Thompson put his full skillset on display opposed to having to defer to Curry and Durant. He's one heck of a two-way player.

If rumors pan out, the Knicks might have Irving, Rozier, Morris, and Theis on their roster next year. Odd.
