MVP thread

It's wild because before today Maye was the favourite, and then today Maye outperformed Stafford in rating, and was so far ahead he sat the 4th quarter, while Stat Padford was struggling to put away Maye's former backup

In what world could Stafford have overtaken Maye? - in a world where smoothbrain NFL talking heads only look at one metric - passing TD's.
While we’re at it, how about a shout out to our old friend Jacoby who had himself a pretty nice season with 23 TDs 8 INTs, 3400 yards.

It's drake "drake maye" maye and I won't hear any arguments otherwise.

I think Stafford won the MVP today. The Pats knew the way to beat Miami is to run the ball down their throats, and that’s what they did. Before today’s game, they were 10th worst against the run, after today they’ll probably wind up 6th worst. Because of that, they pretty much took the ball out of Maye’s hands (only 18 pass attempts).

Rams were playing a horrible Cardinals team, who were 9th worse against the pass, and took advantage of it. Stafford threw 40 times, because at one point, they were shockingly losing to the Cardinals.

Unbelievable, he was SOOO bad for the Pats last year. Congrats to him.

The Cardinals - after all that bellyaching about the Pats' schedule

For it to come down to a comeback in the 4th quarter against the Cardinals to take home the MVP....wow.

It hasn't and anyone thinking that a voter who was thinking that Maye was the MVP but today's games changed his mind, is a stranger to human nature. The people who were voting for Stafford, already made up their mind prior to this game. What changed today, what argument did Stafford add to the discussion? He already had the TD advantage. If the voters were about to vote for Stafford, this game confirmed their opinion. The people who were going to vote for Maye, are still going to vote for him, he had a highly efficient day and the Pats won 38-10. Nothing has changed, if Stafford wins, he would've won even if he threw one TD today.

Do NOT want Maye for MVP, only 8 MVP’s since 1957 when the award started have also won the SB that year. BTW none of them named Brady.

Gotta nab that SB MVP now

Well he has shown an ability to do things Brady never did

Well, that 4th quarter sealed the deal. Got the W. Thats what the voters wanted. The TDs further solidified the narrative thats been in Staffs favor all season, the passing TDs.

Do you think any voter who wants to give Stafford this career award, was watching the game and thinking, ''I like Stafford but if he doesn't score two TD's, i'm just going to have to vote for Maye''?

The outcome of this game had absolutely no impact on the race. The Rams didn't win the #1 with a win, Stafford didn't break any records, nothing of consequence happened.

If you thought Maye was the MVP because he did more with less, nothing that happened today, would change your opinion one bit.

If you thought Stafford was the MVP because he has more TD's, nothing that happened today, would change your opinion, either.
