I think the only mistake in his logic is this:



The Jags didn't force the Pats into spread sets, they were doing it on almost every snap from the very beginning - long before Gronk took the cheap shot that knocked him out of the game. It was a deliberate plan on the part of the Pats for whatever reason.

One other reason they lost is because they had a limited quarterback who could only move the ball because the box was stacked against the run and with great protection for first read only throws, whereas the other team had the greatest QB of all-time.
