He only played 6 snaps against the chiefs. We are stacked at rb and have foster on the ps. Would you trade him for picks and a player from a position of need?

Wouldn't want to, BUT for a position of need; Yes.

I.E. Pass rusher, Cover LB, WR

What players would be on the table acceptable offers

I think they can use another solid LB after Hightower. I don't know if these other guys can cut it but it's early. I like ogbah from the browns but i doubt they would trade him

I think his lack of use this early in the year has more to do with preservation for the long-run because he is such a special, if fragile, player rather than there being no role for him in the backfield. Whatever return they could get for him isn't worth it.

Dion Lewis and Malcom Butler are our 2 best trade chips.
What about Malcom Butler to Dallas for Cole Beasley and a pick?
Dion Lewis back to Philly for a Michael Kendricks straight up.
The Titans have a deep linebacking corps as does San Diego and Houston.
How about Trying to get Mericlus from Houston.
Let's make a deal.

First of all ... rumor.

Second, if teams really are making offers, the offers are most likely draft picks, which may not be particularly useful to the Pats at this point. The Pats 2017 roster seems still to be in the "building" phase and, IMHO, neither the offensive or defensive playbooks are close to being "fully-installed." So, a player would seem far more valuable than a future pick.

OTOH, if a team expressed a desire to trade for Lewis, AND that team had a player who could be useful to the Pats right now, they might consider it.

However, I don't think that the Pats are done with Lewis yet. I think that Gillislee and Burkhead saw a lot more snaps in the opener because they needed them. So, Lewis' apparent "underusage" Thursday might be as much related to that as to protecting him.

We'll need to wait and see what happens in NOLA.

The talent at RB is deep - to the point where even someone on the practice squad like DJ Foster could step in and return kickoffs, and help the offense as a runner and receiving threats.

I could see why the Patriots might field some offers, but it would need to be for a player who can contribute right away, most likely a linebacker or DE.

Lewis can't be trusted to remain on the field. Move him

Rbs are dime a dozen and I don't see Lewis, as good as he was for like 5 or 6 games 2 seasons ago, being that much of a difference. I see we lacking in the LB/DE department.

We aren't getting anything of substance for a running back who can't stay on the field.

I would hold on to him this year. Try and use him in the slot.
