Before, it was vote for as many as you like. Now it's harder. You only get to vote for one.

Sebastian Vollmer, Sea Beast
Brandon Tate, The Brandon on O
Julian Edelman, Edelperson
Brian Hoyer, The Spartan

I think Vollmer will end up being the best but Edelman has to be the most impressive so far considering where he was last year.

I wanted to go Vollmer, but I think Edelman has made the biggest step forward so far...

I voted Edleman, switching positions and actually doing it pretty well can't be an easy thing to do.

Edelperson for sure, followed by Vollmer then Hoyer. Too soon to judge on Tate after only one game, but I have high hopes for him!

We haven't seen enough of Tate yet but I'm very hopeful that he could by the end of the season be the top rookie.

Vollmer looks good too but Julian Edelman just exploded into this team and made a huge impact. The future looks so bright for this kid.

Its definitely Edelman for me.

"Impressive" is tough. It can be easier for a 7th-rounder to "impress" than a high pick.

Edelman has made the biggest contribution of any rookie WR since Branch even as he learns a whole new position, but...I'd guess that if we were told we could only keep one rookie on offense, 99% of us would pick Vollmer. So Vollmer gets my vote.

For me it's a toss-up between Vollmer and Edelman..... Too close to definitively decide on one over the other. The other two look like outstanding potential also, this may be a draft class we look back on 20 years from now and pine for the good old days.......

This was an excellent post!

Thats a whole other question. I'd say that everybody would agree with you that if we could only keep one it would be Vollmer, but the question being post here is who has been the most impressive not who is the most valuable asset.

I agree.............

I think at this post 7th game mark it has to be JE. Vollmer will be good, as will others, but Edelman so far is the best.

Welkerman has been superb.

imho : Edelman

When an UFA can come in during training camp and gain the #2 QB position so firmly that the other QBs are released, I'm impressed. But that position doesn't get on the field much so I had to vote for Edelman. I've been impressed with how fast a learner he is. Hopefully, he gets back soon.

I chose Vollmer 2 starts at the most critical position in the Oline, did a very good job (although hampered after the ankle injury).

Just for the sake of argument, I'll take an adversarial position: Hoyer.

Obviously there is no quantitative evidence for this position but there are several subjective indicators:

(A) He has effectively impressed BB to the point where another ST or backup position has been created since there is not a wasted roster spot for a 3rd QB. This secondary effect has allowed some (ref: BJGE) to have a position and develop instead of being cut and picked up by the competition.

(B) He earns a minimum wage and allows spending in other impactful areas: the savings is probably paying for Seau although I don't have the numbers.

(C) His meaningful snaps are = 0 which is a very very good sign if this trend continues to move sideways.

(D) Just carrying only 1 backup who happens to be an UDFA is one more reason to say this franchise is run in such a more analytical way than teams that carry big name has-beens like Grossman, Timmy Chang, Chris leak, etc.

Looking at these two polls all I can say is that was a heckuva draft!
