Most disappointing play in retrospect?

asante's drop was the worst

he catches that gift int and the pats win the sb

Woods' failure to recover the fumble. It was apparent early on that the Pats O was not going to move the ball at will on long drives. A short field a second TD and the Pats go up 14-3. The Gaints would have felt the pressure.

I chose Other

For me it was not milking the clock once they had 1st & goal in the 4th quarter. 3 straight passes & not a single rush attempt. When the Giants took the ball back on offense that clock should have been under 2 minutes.

I totally agree with your point here. Horrible clock management. Make the Giants use timeouts on D.

hard choice, taking eli's houdini over Asante's drop, he made a great attempt at going for it though

Every play where the O-line run over by the Giants D. And it happened alot. Shades of Max Lane , but it was like there were five of them protecting our QB , or not.

Should be O line on 3 and 1, not Maroney. Maroney had no shot whatsoever on that play.

The O line played like ****ies. That was the hardest thing for me to watch

Wow. When listed like that apart from 'Brady last drive' you see how many real plays there were, just got used to the Pats making them.

Not going for the FG on 4th & 13 was the one for me. IF they made the FG then all the Giant plays on that last drive would not have been so catastrophic as at least the game would have been tied.

I was really surprised to not see the FG attempt on 4th & 13 with the amount of pressure the Giants were getting on Brady. With scoring so hard I thought it was best to get points on the board.

Asante's drop, personally. The Eli sack was big but it would not have necessarily sealed the game. Asante's drop would have sealed the deal.

So much was dissapointing. How the f*ck did Eli get out of about five of our guys hauling him over and make that play? Why didn't we just kick the field goal on that 4th and 13? Why was Hobbs hung out to dry, trying to handle Plaxico by himself for the game winning score? I feel a little sorry for Hobbs on that one to be honest. Our O-Line getting mauled damn near every play. Giants were on top of Brady more than Gisele is. Play calling..

So many things just didn't make sense/very unlike us....

I thought Merriweather had an easier shot at an INT than Asante did, for what that's worth

You know, I was also thinking of adding a pass/catch that seems to be overlooked in terms of it's importance of the Giants pulling this off.

After the now infamous Eli's Escape our defense seemed like they were going to get back on their feet. Thomas started things off with a yard loss sack, then Manning failed to hookup with Tyree again on 2nd down.

At this point it's now 3rd and 11. I can't see them converting this and was almost positive a pulse-pounding 4th down was inventible. I loved the possible upcoming scenario. Then out of the ******* textbook, Manning hooks up short with Smith who quickly runs for the necessary 11 yards AND gets out of bounds. Right after I thought to myself “That couldn’t have gone any worse’. It was exactly something I'd expect of Welker/Faulk, not Eli to Smith in the most crucial moments of the Super Bowl.

At that point the clock is stopped, the chains are moved and the rest is history...

When this happened, I could hear Bruschi yelling "they aint got it, they aint got it" and holding up the ball he had taken away during the AFCCG in 05. At that point I got a very bad feeling....

The sad thing is, the jints probably wouldn't have used any TOs on D. Eli should have had a full minute less time with which to work.

I voted for 4th/13. 3rd/7 from the 25, and zero points? Inexcusable, and unforgivable. All that jints' final drive would have accomplished would then have been a tie game.

4th and 13 deffinatly because if we kick and make the field goal then the game would have been tied at the end

After our TD in the 4th and I looked up and saw 2:20 left (or whatever it was), I was worried that Eli would drive them to a solid FG try.

Just curious but why were you worried that Eli was going to drive the Giants to a FG and a 14-13 Pats win?

After just rewatching the game the most disappointing to me is seeing Seymour behind held by his facemask by O'Hara while he is trying to wrap up Eli.

I don't give a shyt that its the Superbowl, both AD and Seymour were held like a mofo.

That whole play was just a friggin travesty.

Assante's INT miss in the last drive. THat was Eli's blunder opportunity we must have capitalized on to lock up SB XLII. The Miracle Catch helped by the Gridiron God and poor Hobbs being hung out to dry (another coaching blunder by Dean Pees) do not happen. Moss did get 10 fingers on the ball at the Giant 15 yard line but Gridiron God knocked it out of our hands.

The Maroney stuff gave the Giants defense confidence.

Belichick blundered by going for 4th and 13 instead of a 50 yard FG.

It wasn't the Patriots day all around which makes me wonder what the Patriots were doing all week. Also I wonder what the health of the Patriots was like.

Also even with only 35 seconds left, I still had confidence that Brady would lead us into overtime. With all 3 timeouts at our disposal and only needing to get in field goal range instead of getting the 7, I honestly thought he’d put together another signature Brady drive. The first incomplete pass to Gaffney deep killed me, because it appeared (Can't recall who exactly) someone was open right down the middle.

Surprised this play isn't talked about at all. I was at the game and in that end zone. On that play the Giants blitzed and Welker was wide -- I am WIDE -- ******* open down the middle of the field. He could have almost scored.

But the blitzer rushed Brady's pass and I don't think he even saw him.

My sister & I were both aghast at how open Welker was and that Brady didn't get it to him.

I voted this as most disappointing simply because it was the most controllable/avoidable "play" of the game.

This wasn't so much a play as a bad decision from the best game day coach in the league.

To me, that's what makes it most disappointing.

All the other plays were actual football plays where a Giant makes a great play, or a player fails to make a play, which you can't get too disappointed about.

But when a great coach makes a bad coaching decision, that is disappointing.

How can you know without the wide angle coaches film if he was wide open? There was safety help deep on both sides of the field.

The ball was thrown so far down the field that anyone deep on the Giants D would have been flowing to Gaffney by the time the camera caught up to them. There was no way to tell on TV if Welker was open when the ball was thrown.

Because if you read my post I stated I was at the game. I was at that end zone about 40 yards away. Welker was wide open.

I mean wide ******* open.

He would have gotten close to midfield if not further.
