Which group of WRs do you think has more talent (QBs being EQUAL...lets say Payton Manning could work with either one)...no homers please.

• 88 Sam Aiken
• 11 Julian Edelman
• 81 Randy Moss
• 19 Brandon Tate KR
• 83 Wes Welker PR

• 81 Jason Avant
• 86 Reggie Brown
• 80 Kevin Curtis
• 10 DeSean Jackson PR
• 18 Jeremy Maclin

Moss much better than Jackson
Welker much better than Maclin
Our 3 together are better than their other 3.

I would say that Tate has the talent to potentially be better than Maclin.

And i'm not a Homer.

I would pretty much agree to this except for the fact that I don't think Tate is going to be better than Maclin in the long run. And I do think that Tate is going to be very good. On top of that, I would take Reggie Brown or Kevin Curtis over Sam Aiken.

Question - What is the basis for this comparison?

Why compare 5? Usually a team only activates 4 WRs for a game, so who cares if my #5 is better than your #5?

Looking over the list, I have to ask myself if this is a trick question. I'd like to see the rathionale why the Iggles have a better WR corps.

Wondering who has the more talented WR Corps. Debate with Eagles fan.

This isn't exactly the best place to post this then. You're going to get a pro-Patriots slant at every turn, despite the fact that you said "no homer". You'd be better off posting this on a New York Giants forum (a.k.a. - a team that hates both the Pats and the Eagles).

Moss and Welker are better than all their WR's....but I don' tknow how anyone can say Aiken, Edelman, or Tate are better than Kurtis, Brown, or Maclin...yet. Tate hasn't done ANYTHING yet, and Aiken hasn't exactly been stellar (besides his play against the Bucs). Edelman has been solid, but you can't say he's better than Kevin Kurtis, who already has proven to be a solid receiver over the course of a full year.

Simple they dont have a Randy Moss. A 6 foot 5 receiver who can make the jump/spectacular catches.

I was suprised they drafted Maclin, as I thought he was the same type of receiver as Jackson. Two Burners that are not physically intimidating.

There is no way the Eagles receiving core is remotely in the same league as the Pats corps. That is just preposterous.

The Eagles are deeper, but they don't have anyone who can compare to Moss or Welker.

Well, as of right now Desean Jackson is a bigger threat to take mid yardage throws to the house than anyone on our team. He's blazing fast.

I'd say our main recievers (ie Moss and Welker) are better than the Iggles, but they are deeper.

But just imagine having Moss, Welker and Jackson on the team. That would be unstoppable.

depth-wise, they're somewhat comparable, but the Pats' starters are way better, so the first group (and it's not even really a debate). If Tate shows something now that he's in the rotation, the gap will only get wider.

lets do it this way, if u had to choose 1 WR from either category who?

randy

if u had to choose 2 from each?

randy and wes top desean and whoever

if u had to choose 3, 4, 5 then maybe it would alter....but not really

randy, wes, edelman > desean, kurtis , brown/maclin

if u had to choose 4, then maybe i would alter it, cuz aiken isnt really a wr, and tate has only played 1 game

Right now Moss and Welker are better than Jackson and Macklin, but in a year or 2 they could be bett IMO. Jackson and Macklin can both score a TD whenever the touch the ball. Don't underestimate this group.

Maclin and Jackson are a pretty solid young duo. If those 2 guys were Pats, they'd make this O even more devistating. Im not about to knock either of those 2 players. And when's the last time Moss even jumped for a ball. Seems to have disappeared from his arsenal. Still a helluva a receiver. Just not the "jumper" he once was. For the record, Id make the debate a dead heat. Give Tom Brady those 5 receivers, and we'd probably be every bit as good. jmho.

Desean Jackson is a beast (just look at the # of TDs he has had over 50 yards this year), but you can't beat Moss-Welker, so I'll go with the Pats group.

I think his back is much worse than anyone will say.

DeSean Jackson is as close to Santonio Holmes as a receiver and plays like him as well - fast and elusive and a superb WR.

I like our depth and potential better when it comes to having two (proven) veteran starters and two rookies that are showing some promise.

-Edelman (21) has nearly the same amount of receptions as Maclin (22).

-Kevin Curtis had one season over 1,000 yards and is hurt.

-I think Maclin and Jackson are guys that won't play the slot like Welker unless its a designed play.

However if Kevin Curtis was healthy and playing slot he would make the Eagles even more dangerous and maybe slightly better receiving corp than ours right now since Edelman is out.
