More NFL leaks ?

Depends on your definition of what independent is.

IMO the Wells Investigation was never independent from Day 1. NFL Security were involved from the get-go. That is not independent and doesn't even include Pash redlining and editing the report.

The claim of it being independent was a fabrication from the beginning.

I'd go so far as to say that, from the day Wells agreed to take on the investigation as the NFL's attorney (which he must have done to invoke attorney-client privilege), this investigation was self-evidently not independent from the NFL.

It was a lie from day one. What remains to be seen is whether Berman will conclude that it matters that he lied. Maybe the NFL's argument--that even though they lied, the investigation wasn't required to be independent, so it doesn't matter--will win out. Maybe the judge will decide that Goodell is evidently biased in a case where the report was prepared by his own attorney. Maybe the judge will decide that even if Goodell could theoretically serve as an unbiased arbitrator to his own attorney's report, the fact that he made public assurances to Brady that the report was independent undermines his ruling and shows his bias (by lying) in action.

It'll be interesting to see what he concludes.

NFL has more leaks then....( i could go a lot of ways with that one)

Thats what I'm thinking if this goes sideways. Goody has strategically placed himself with an out as his judgement was influenced by the report.

Either way he looks like poop here.

Sorry for the rant here, but to close it out -

The top seven executives for the NFL were paid a total of $89.4 million in 2012 and a paltry $58.1 million in 2103. That's a hell of a price to pay for incompetence, greed and corruption.

I guess that's why the NFL can't afford to pay crippled and maimed retired players and why tickets must cost as much as they do.
Rant away. Add this to how they deal with domestic violence, concussion syndrome/brain injuries and how they've handled deflategate and I am wondering how I can continue to support the NFL.

Rule of thumb: when idiots try to outsmart people, all they accomplish is shooting themselves in the foot.

Volin just ashed Goodell why when they correct misinformation all the time they would not correct 11 of 12 balls. Roger said they went to the independent Ted Wells and never answered Volin's question.

The owners are meeting as we speak

I think the Patriots PR focus should be on whether or not Roger is considered to have "unquestioned integrity"

Article VIII of the NFL Constitution and Bylaws couldn't be more clear

Only a person of "unquestioned integrity SHALL be employed as Commissioner"

Although I think Kraft should be doing more to lead the charge publicly, I HOPE he's doing so privately - but ALL owners need to answer one question"

Given all of Roger Goodell's lies and leaks, do you, the owners of the NFL, still feel Roger Goodell has "unquestioned integrity?"

And if not, why are the OWNERS violating the Bylaws and Constitution of the NFL by allowing him to continue to serve as Commissioner?

SHALL does not leave any wiggle room - and clearly Roger Goodell has no problem blatantly lying, misrepresenting the facts, fabricating facts etc. etc.

Roger has been caught in multiple lies - this is not in doubt. The owners have no choice but to fire him, unless they too are corrupt and have questionable integrity

He reminds me of the redneck crime boss sitting at the bar of every corny cop movie you've ever seen.

I mean, he was in the middle of Nowhere, Indiana, committing several felonies before he got pulled over...

Sounds right to me.

Hmm. Anyone know what this was referring to?

Who knew til Goodell's press conference today that among Ted Wells' powers was to investigate false leaks. I think that's what RG just said.

i hope someone on bradys team has noted these tid bits from the commish, maybe they can be used later against goodell.

What did this say? Suspiciously, it's been deleted.

There was a reference on WEEI to an earlier Chris Carter rant on Geno Smith, laying responsibility for today's altercation at his feet and calling into question his lack of leadership abilities.

It may be that at the time, Carter's remarks lacked the context they'd now have (it was a GOOD rant!) and thus they took it down earlier - but unless they are trying to protect the Jets, it's spot on and should be put back up

I'd order the notes from Ted Wells, for his investigation into the league, to be presented within 2 hours.

Chris Carter is a bitter hateful person.
Goodell the more he talks the more I think he's either the most incompetent person who is in charge of something so important.
Or he is purposely trying to make no sense in the hope to confuse everyone to the point of delirium.
