More AHern bad news; lawsuit alleges he shot man in face

Every once in awhile, fine. This guy seems to do it an awful lot, though, which is somewhat eye-rolling when you consider his own interview where he claims to have grown up after becoming a father. Don't know too many (or ANY) new fathers who are out hitting up strip clubs all that frequently. Or ever.

Seems to be doing it "a lot"? You just love damning a person based on nothing.

Hernandez was heading home from a night club, not a strip joint, when the Jets fans started harassing him. The police intervened and escorted Hernandez away from the incident.

So, that leaves ONE incident where he MAY have been at a strip club in February, but even that is questionable since the guy seems to be changing his story from what he told police at the time.

So, tells everyone just how many 22 year old SINGLE fathers you know that you can base your statements on.

Oh, here we go again. I'm so sorry, sir, that I have offended your delicate sensibilities regarding a fine young man, who was probably just at a nightclub that helped the poor and needy. I'm sure when he's not hanging with his homies, he's a choir boy. An absolute choirboy! Oh, wait, I'm sure they are ALL choirboys! Every last one of them. That explains everything regarding why he fell in the draft, why he's smack in the middle of a murder investigation now. It's all a misunderstanding! A big misunderstanding! After all, I can draw absolutely no conclusions about anyone ever unless I know them personally and what they were doing personally every second of the day! Unless they are a New York Jet, of course.

This guy is an absolute jackass.

Your sarcasm shows that you are the pot calling the kettle black.

No where did I say that he was a choir boy. However, the reports for the incident in Providence did say that he was the victim of the harassment outside a NIGHT CLUB (which is different than a STRIP CLUB or GENTLEMEN'S CLUB).

You are the one makes BS statements that are unfounded. As for "drawing conclusions" you aren't even doing that because you aren't actually basing them on facts. You are basing it on what you THINK are facts and it's turning out that they aren't. So your conclusions are turning out to be wrong.

He fell in the draft because he failed a drug test at the combine. Everyone knows that. He's not failed one since the draft. Or had you missed the new drug testing policy that the NFL implemented with the last CBA?

He's not smack dab in the middle of a murder investigation. In fact, the police have stated as recently as 2 hours ago that he was, in fact, NOT a suspect, though that could change.

But, yeah, you keep on damning him for being a 22 year old man who happened to go out a few times and get harassed each time because he's got a well-known face.

It's too bad everyone can't be like Tom Brady. You know, the guy who has unprotected sex with a woman, gets her pregnant, doesn't marry her and then marries another woman not long after his 1st child is born.

I mean, yeah, let's just damn all of them for being human..

Are we really taking in the general character issue(s) that the team was forewarned about at draft time? Was there not a morals bit placed in AH's contract. Yeah, there are numerous articles all coming into the papers in the past few days...shooting, homicide investigation and a few separate mentions of problems encountered in local (Providence) clubs.

Please be reminded that a few teams stayed away from AH for these types of reasons. And, here we are...

Based on nothing? I agree that the police report that he was named in is basically nothing, but based on everything that we're hearing in this case alone, what we have here is a whole lot more than nothing. Maybe not enough to convict him in a criminal trial (yet), but enough to conclude that it's a lot more likely that he was involved in a crime than not.

Personally, I'm realistically hoping that he 'just' ends up being guilty of obstruction of justice, with a small bit of hope against hope that he's just an idiot with dirtbag friends who committed no crime himself.

If he never plays another day in a Patriot uniform he still would have been worth the 4th round pick.

The report on the Bradley shooting moves rather quickly from Hernandez waving his gun (at him) in an argument. Stop right there. Is this the type of character that is good for the NE Patriots? Of course, this type of character typically leads to further problems. It was also noted that the gun discharged. Of course, this means that someone (Hernandez) fired his gun at something/someone. What did he think might happen? Yeah, the projectile(s) will be dialoged and strike someone/something. These are not random events. Both parties a very luck Hernandez's aim was off...or was it?

In my opinion, the real problem here is the common themes...weapons, arguments, alcohol, injuries. Eventually, this will lead to homicide(s), etc... Oh, wait...someone was recently killed.

Let's say everything- all complaints/filings -gets cleared up. How long is it going to be before a new event is placed in the queue? Isn't this what other teams passed on? How does this affect the team? Does it make these types of events...OK for everyone else?

If another team offered a comparable TE in trade for Hernandez, would you want that trade to take place? Why?

YES. Based on NOTHING. We haven't heard any REAL facts of the case other than the Police doing their due diligence regarding searching the premises of the people who last saw the victim. Everything else in the case has been speculative on the part of the media and their "sources". And even THAT has been contradictory as I pointed out.

Now, regarding the lawsuit, the original report that Mr. Bradley filed said that it was a group of Blacks and Hispanics that shot him Not Hernandez. In fact, Hernandez was not even mentioned. Mr. Bradley also didn't state that he was shot while riding in a vehicle in the initial report. Furthermore, he refused to say more than that to the police and they stopped investigating because of a lack of evidence and a lack of cooperation by the victim. Mr. Bradley also hasn't been in contact with them to re-open the case.

The incident in May in Providence, Hernandez was the victim of being harassed by Jets fans and the Police stepped in to stop it and escort Hernandez to his car so he could leave without incident.

The one in June, Hernandez was only there. He was not involved.

So, we have one case of heresay by a guy with a criminal record and another where the police have stated, contrary to the media "sources",that Hernandez is not a suspect at this time. They've also stated that no arrest warrant has been issued. Again, contrary to the media "sources".

Now. I don't know about you or Bellac*hick, but I lived in San Diego. I can guarantee you, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that there were plenty of single, married, and attached 22 - 30 guys who went out to Night Clubs and Strip Clubs pretty regularly (by regularly, I mean weekly). And yes, even ones with kids. I can't tell you the number of times I saw Seau, Tim Dwight, and various other NFL football players out and about either. So, the idea that "no one that age with kids goes out to strip clubs or night clubs all that frequently. or ever" is just a load of garbage.

FWIW...I have a direct line into the Providence station... Hernandez was the object of taunts from local Latin Kings members because of a visible tat they considered a diss. One of the clowns got arrested right after that on a home invasion beef where he pistol whipped a pregnant woman in front of her kids demanding drugs. From what I was told, Ahern has a tat on one of his arms connecting him to a 'king" that is a direct rival of the Providence leader. The incident is closed and no one has any plans of re-opening it.

Yeah, because that epic choke dropped pass in the final minute of The Super Bowl was just so worth it. :bricks:

Tats in gang code -- something I was unaware of, but it makes sense. I wonder if NFL teams question prospective draftees on what their tattoos symbolize.

Not that I really care about this guy anymore, but here's an update.

Shooting case with alleged Hernandez connection stays closed (Updated: June 20, 2013 at 10:57 p.m)

The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office is not reopening the investigation into what transpired on the day a man claims New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez shot him near Riviera Beach, Fla.
Alexander S. Bradley claimed in a civil suit that on Feb. 13, while in a vehicle with Hernandez heading toward Palm Beach County, a gun in Hernandez's possession discharged, hitting Bradley.
A PBSO offense report appears to be connected to what happened, describing a man found shot shortly after 6:45 a.m. that day, on the ground near a John Deere landscaping business. He was shot in the head, the report said.
But the man repeatedly told deputies that he did not know who shot him and refused to cooperate, the report said. Hernandez isn't mentioned in the report.
As of Thursday, that man still hadn't cooperated -- or even contacted -- the sheriff's office, PBSO spokeswoman Teri Barbera said. And, unless that changes, PBSO can't reopen the case.
"If he doesn't tell us who is involved in this, what avenue do we have to follow," Barbera said.
The report doesn't mention any witnesses to the shooting, only people who found the man after he was shot. Surveillance video from the area was determined to be "of no value," the report said.

He fell from a first round talent to the fourth round because of ONE FAILED DRUG TEST? I think if you check out what some NFL scouts were saying about him you might reconsider that.

If they don't, they should.
