You need to read what I wrote. This year he will most likely be the sixth QB selected. 1 Ryan, 2 Woodson, 3 Brohm, 4 Henne, 5 John David Booty, 6 Erik Ainge, 7 Colt Brennan. Last year Ainge would have gone ahead of every QB not named Russell and Quinn. Only he's the 6th best QB this year. All of them drafted within the first three rounds as well.

As for Laurinaitis I don't care if he's as good as AJ Hawk. He isn't coming to New England unless it's to visit Cape Cod. He isn't the third best player in the draft next spring. First round material sure, just not top five. If he didn't go to tOSU he wouldn't be nearly as "talented".

I disagree with your order of QBs. I go Ryan, Brohm, Brennan, Woodson, Ainge, Henne.

We'll see, I just think Laurinitis is a top 5 player in the draft at the position the Pats need to adress more then any other.

Dorsey ... a 6'1" short armed tub with a high motor who only runs a 5.1 40.

Wilfork checked in at 15 lbs and 1" more than Dorsey ... ran a 5.2 and plays the nose ... Vince was picked 21st.

I find it hard to believe Dorsey could be a better NT than Wilfork.
There are many DL's, DE's, and OLB's better than Dorsey in the NFL now.

Anyone who wastes a top 10 pick on him is a complete moron.

He's a top 3 pick based on hype IMO.

Completely disagree. He's been playing at 75% all year since that blatant cheap shot on his knee and is still getting good push. He can rush the edge and beat tackles on the edge and take on double teams in the middle and stuff the run. His attitude is also in the exact spot it needs to be, great kid even better talent.

Of that group I'd go Laurinitis. Jake Long is over rated and was completely owned by Vernon Gholston. Malcolm Jenkins is a BB type player, physical, strong and wants to hit. McFadden is a wildcard, I still think the Pats need to go after a line backer.

Does arm length really matter in a DT? I put a little more stock into technique, strength, balance, drive, speed.

Arm length doesn't make or break a defensive lineman but it certainly raises their stock. One of Richard Seymour's best attributes that is rarely spoken of is his ability to bat down passes at the line of scrimmage. That has a lot to due with his height and arm length. Also shorter arms can make it more difficult to shed blocks but that is more of a concern for defensive ends going up against mauling tackles as opposed to defensive tackles up against guards and centers. Another important thing to remember is most defensive tackles coming out of college are not looking to be a nose tackle regardless if its a position they might excel at or not. Frankly its the least glorious position defensively and you are basically taught to NOT be aggressive and get up field. This was the most evident element of Wilfork's game that changed from his first year starting at the nose to his second. He actually will take a step back before he engages to put himself in a better position to slide off the block and make the tackle on the running back. Wilfork learned the position well and appears to be the definition of a team player so the transition to a 2 gap went smooth. I think many of you would agree that if Wilfork was playing the interior of a 4-3 he could get 7 or 8 sacks a year. We are fortunate that he is accepting of a nose tackle role and I pray we extend him before he goes to free agency because I don't think he will only appeal to other 3-4 teams.
