There is no I repeat NO WAY this is even close to being a fact.
Wilfork could alone coup us a top 5 pick and he's saying we'd use Wilfork as leverage to move up in the draft.
Only lineman I could see us attempt to move would be Seymour or Green.
Leaning more towards Green he makes a fairly good amount of money for his position fills in well when Seymour is hurt which has been alot.
Never complained about his role or money publicly.
Now that I'd think about it if and were not mind you but if we were gonna dangle one defensive lineman out there it would have to be Seymour.
I know how much BB respected Seymours talent and heart, but maybe he sees Seymour as being a injury concern and thinks the money can be spent well advised elsewhere.
I'd for one love to see the Seymonsta come back at his caliber form.
Although I put Vince in much higher regard to Seymour hands down.
Best Nose Tackle in the game no way he is traded.
Unless were scrapping the whole frickin 3-4.

Yeah, let's trade Wilfork, the second most important player on the team.

:bricks:

Whooaah!! What is that "expert" on? Does he smoke it, or pop it? That must be some really good stuff. Talking about reality-altering, mind-blowing substances!
We could have used some of that after that SuperBowl game. I know I was ready for something like that. Our D-Line is the least of our worries. Wilfork is going nowhere. And why would we trade up, anyway? This is ridiculous. Trading down is a much more realistic possibility. Adding some more picks, even if they are in later rounds, to draft backups where we need them.

New England Patriots (from SF) - DT Glenn Dorsey (LSU)
The New England Patriots do have to address the interior of the defensive line and they have been rumored to be testing the trade waters with NT Vince Wilfork. With that said, HC Bill Belichick has been known to take the best player available over need as they often find success later in the draft or with veterans at addressing their problem areas. Dorsey's stock has taken a hit and a month ago, it would seem unfathomable for him to slide this far but it is becoming a reality (especially with the medical red flags). Either Gholston, Ellis, or McFadden will fall to the Pats, so this pick does make sense.

Stupidist rumor I have heard in a long while.

I could see the Pats trading up if, say, Chris Long were (miraculously?) still available at #4 or #5. But that's about it.

If Dorsey was still there at 7 (which is not out of the question), I wouldn't be completely shocked if we took him. I remember when Vince unexpectedly fell to us at 21.

If they used Wilfork to move up and get him THAT would shock me. Why trade up for a guy that may drop in your lap anyway.

Especially a guy who plays basically the same position and please people spare me the semantics of your rigid interpretation of 4-3 DT, 3-4 NT arguments. There petty and irrelevent. Didn't Wilfork play in a "4-3" at Miami?

and theres a huge huge huge chance that he won't even be as good as wilfork.

Hell, he might turn out not to be as good as Lekevin.

What do you mean? Dorsey does not have the skill set of an ideal 3-4 NT. The trade wouldn't make any sense from a personell stand point. We'd be weakening ou interior with Dorsey. The skill-set of a 3-4 NT matters greatly.

About Wil in college, he was built to play in the 3-4. That's the difference.

Wilfork is one of the best nose guards in the NFL. Why would BB want Dorsey? Makes no sense.

Moral of the story: Don't listen to closet Rat fan writers who make up all kinds of crap that tears away at the Patriots. That idiot is a Jet jerk pinhead, probably smoking crack and drinking Ripple and wearing his Madden 2007 Thomas Jones bra.

Maybe he means offensi...no, hang on....ok I got nothing.

We would be dangling Wilfork if we were moving to a 4-3 defense.
Why? He played 4-3 in Miami, didn't he? Didn't it take some time for him to learn the 3-4, and not to shoot the gap?

But why would you think we'd be moving to a 4-3? What have you heard? I haven't heard this OR the rumors we were dangling Wilfork as trade bait.

I don't think that we're going to a 4-3 or that we should. I responding to the silly rumor. WHy would we trade one of the best nose tackles in the league. We MIGHT if we were considering a move to 4-3.

Great analysis. I give it a 9 on the snore scale.

Stupidest mock draft I have ever read. Why would the Pats want to trade Vince Wilfork? He makes the probowl and is regarded as one of the best NT's in the league. But the Pats should address the D-Line by trading away their youngest player for a guy who has a history of injuries? Wow, this guy is an idiot. Trading Seymour would make more sense, but I still would think this guy is an idiot.

If McFadden falls to us we take him ... no questions asked. We'll have Maroney, McFadden in the backfield with Moss outside and Welker in the slot. Throw in a TE or another WR and who on earth could stop us???
