The Seahawks are on record as saying the Broncos quit near the half. The offensive line stopped firing off and the WRs stopped working through the jostling and routes.
Why did that happen?
So much of the myth of the Broncos rests on Peyton Manning's shoulders.
What did the Bronco players see?
1. Omaha only fooled the Broncos: 2 points
2. The defense stopped Marshall Lynch and held SEA to field goals.
3. Peyton got scared and through a horrendous INT
4. Peyton was hit hard and created a pick-6.
5. Welker throwing his hands up when open.
They saw the myth deflate, and the giant whooshing sound you heard was the fight leaving the Broncos.
It's because of Peyton.
I'm convinced the game would have gone down to the wire if Peyton didn't make so many first quarter mistakes, and I think that, while the Seahawks front 4 had a lot to do with it, the decisions to throw those balls were Peyton's bad decisions, and no one else's.
The Broncos lost faith in Peyton Manning. That is the real story of the game.
