I don't see how this makes your point. Less practice means not as good. You also fail to quote my statement on how I think the Patriots will be fine, but the lack of practice with the new guys may show up later in the season.

Because you're pointing to performance in that post. You're also doing it here. luuked is quite clearly worried about performance (in spite of your catty, feminine "straw man" post earlier) and it shows in both his OP in the thread and his reaction to the above post where performance declines from missing practice is the order of the day.

Re: the bolded, that's not necessarily true. We've seen numerous examples of that with this very team where the new guy has either come in between games or has missed extensive time in practice to light it up his first week out of the gates. Moss is the most famous one I can think of right off the top of my head. He missed a huge chunk of TC and came in Week 1, in the hardest offense in the NFL to learn, and absolutely lit it up. And these are new guys... not a 19 year veteran who only missed a pitch and catch session without contact.

One more note on that. If Edelman got caught with PEDs I am sure that Josh Gordon will soon get a letter from the league because he looks completely ridiculous.

Alcohol is a masking agent.

Gordon just looks like he put his time in during the summer in the weight room. Guys that are recovering from a substance addiction have to find another medium. It helps take their minds off of it. Some turn to cigs and coffee/Coca Cola. In Gordon’s case, it seems to be working out.

Overlooking your misogyny, why does the team have OTAs if not to get better? Not as good, does not mean they cannot be great, it does mean they will not be as good.

Anyhow, I am not interested in reviving this ridiculous argument. You can't let it go.

Its already been discussed how "less practice" or whatever you want to call it (technically since "practice" dosent officially begin until after cutdown day) could make the tean "better" because of the need to make the sum of the team greater than the parts.

I am guessing that this revelation is just being missed, ignored (because it dosent fit the narrative of some posters here) or.... and I hate to say this because far be it from me to insult posters here....there are posters who are just to immature to understand the concept of addition by subtraction.

Any reports of Wynn or Michel? The few practice summaries I've read has no mention of either.

It serves several purposes. It gets some players in shape (Brady doesn't need that), integrates new parts into the team and gets them used to the way they're coached with the Patriots (Brady doesn't need that), and generally gets them into the building. Nobody is saying that OTAs aren't beneficial. You're now creating a straw man. What we're saying is that they're more beneficial to some players than they are to others. Brady, having been here for nearly two decades, is clearly the latter.

Not as good, does not mean they cannot be great, it does mean they will not be as good.

And these theory has been blown to hell historically. I just did it in my last post with only one example.

Well, I knew that in your first post when you didn't quote me directly but instead went the catty, feminine route.

There were some tweets about Michel and people said he caught a pass and make a couple of defenders look foolish. I think Howe said it

If he stays healthy, he might be a shoe-in for OROY. He’s found himself in one hell of a situation. He has maybe the best run-blocking OL in the NFL and the GOAT at QB which means he won’t be facing a lot of 8 man boxes. If I’m playing the Giants on the other hand, I’m loading up the box to limit Barkley and telling Eli to beat me.

Lock the beast up
With a new contract to clarify

Agree

Its going to be very interesting to see how they use him and compared to the other RBs, how many touches and snaps he receives.

"*Officials present. Bill Belichick stops a drill to instruct players on how to hand the ball to officials."

I would think BB could feasibly delegate this part of the training to an assistant.

Sometimes it's not about whether you can delegate, but about sending a message.

And also that BB is big on respecting the game and the people who help make it happen (on the field at least). I'm guessing this was a spur of the moment decision to coach this up, so no reason to take the extra time to ask McDaniels or Flores to do it.

Curran said on the latest QuickSlants that based on everything he has seen so far Burkhead seems to be the one who is likely to start out in the main running role. Entirely possible that Sony will be worked in as the season progresses (or if he distances himself from Rex significantly during camp). But similarly to Wynn there is no reason to rush things. Sony needs to show that he understands protection schemes and can be an effective blocker on NFL level (which given his history should be possible).

...and Sony needs to prove he can hang on to the football.

We know Sony, Burk, White and Develin are locks. If another RB shows anything on STs that might mean Bolden is gone. I don't see them keeping 2 more RBs but I do see them keeping one of the bigger RBs if they can play STs

Working out and becoming super religious I think based on his social media. It wouldn't be far fetched to think those work for him.
