Mincey

Mincey had some very nice plays at LB. One play he was at ILB and made a great pursue to the other OG slot to make a tackle. Other times he was strong at OLB. I don't have time to go into other details. It will be interesting to see him in the next preseason games.

He was mostly at WOLB, that's interesting that you saw him at SOLB also. I know I'll be crucified for saying this but based on what I saw tonight, I'd consider moving Vrabel inside again and playing Mincey or Woods at SOLB. For 2 reasons - both of those guys looked better than the guys trying to play inside and if we're gonna have a weak spot I'd prefer it to be on the edge than down the middle. Anyway, yeah, it was nice to see Mincey look decent after not hearing too much positive about him in camp so far.

I agree with you. ILB strength is crucial. And it looks like there are more possible reasonable candidates for OLB than for ILB. By the way, we might mention that Banta-Cain had a couple nice sacks. I didn't watch for him specifically but maybe I can get time to do that. It would be interesting to see how he held the edge.
