Uhh, no. Milton could be useful as a roleplay QB. Sometimes teams do this, have one guy who's good in most places and another guy they bring in at certain downs and distances because they offer more in those situations.Considering Milton probably won't have any impact since his job is to ride the bench, yes.
Say Maye is getting burnt by a team with a heavy blitz package and the O-Line can't keep him upright in the pocket. Take a try at giving Milton the ball and see if the escapability and ability to make accurate throws on the run that he flashed against the Bills' backup is an illusion or not. If he succeeds, try him again in the same role, see if he can be a situational answer against blitz heavy teams, and build from there, using both QBs where they work best.
Having 2 quarterbacks with different skillsets split time based on the situation isn't a new idea in the NFL. I could give the example of Taysom Hill who made it work at times for the Saints. I also remember Brian Flores using Brissett as a QB sneak specialist while they were Dolphins together.
Bottom line, Maye and Milton bring different looks and there might be an opportunity to split time like that.
