Since amendola will probably be playing his last game as a pat on Sunday this will work.
Next years WRs
Edelman
Hogan
Mitchell
Floyd

Not bad, add a youngster for depth.

Yep. Probably on the PS, with those four on the roster.

Mitchell is a rookie, age 23. Floyd is 27. Hogan 28. Edelman is 30, but he takes enough hits his effective football age might be a little more.

Mitchell has another three years on his rookie contract.
Hogan has another two years on his deal.
Edelman has another year on his.

I'd like to see Floyd get a multi-year deal with the Pats, maybe for three years. Seems to me that the Patriots might be able to sign him at a bargain basement price because of his legal issues, instead of just giving him a one year prove-it deal.

Looks like they've got a solid WR corps for next year, and if they can get Floyd to sign a multi-year deal it'll give them a good foundation for the year after.

Also like the Marty Bennett is saying he wants to be in Foxboro next year as well. Says something about the locker room dynamics when soon to be free agents are publicly proclaiming they want to stay here.

That guy is tough to bring down after the catch. I hope they find a way to retain him and hopefully he can pick things up better than some of the others that came and fizzled quickly.

I believe you, but where did you hear or see that Danny is done?

I think he will be active. He has had alot of time now to get down this offense. I also want him for his blocking. I like mitchell but he's a rookie. I really hope we spread out the falcons.

Go check out his base salary and cap hit. Given his relative lack of production, bringing him back would not be in line with normal BB procedure, unless he took a major haircut.

Slated to make 6 million in 20017 i believe. If he get's cut that would add more money to our cap space. I like him but he would have to take a major cut like you said.

I will miss Danny. Hopefully Julian doesn't follow him after next season. I know he has another year, but is 2018-2019 Patriots going to have Julian? I do hope!

It all depends on what he does in 20017. He's getting up there in age. I really hope mitchell turn's out to be something. I am still a little cautious with him.

Amendola takes a pay cut to stay ... he loves it here and he can fill the Edelman role during injuries. learning this system is no easy feat. And Bill has tried to keep players at lower cost but most move on for more money. Amendola is a good punt returner as well.

If he gets a second ring I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to another team where he can cash out one more time. If no one shows interest he will always have a shot at a cheap deal at NE.

Agreed. Also I can't imagine any team paying him much money given his modest production in an offense probably best suited to his abilities. Definitely want him staying around given how clutch he has been.

Cap Room: $66,741,426 / $16,241,426 ( Need to reach a long term deal with Malcolm + sign Draf picks + Cushion for the rest of the season) / $8,141,426 (Money for draft picks + cushion for picks)

WR (5) - They need 4/5 guys. I would extend Amendola ( 2 years) lowering his base salary a lot. We have other needs we don't need to create a new one. I would give a 3 year deal to Floyd.

Julian Edelman WR 30 2018
Chris Hogan WR 28 2019
Danny Amendola WR 31 2018* - Pay cut and stay IMO.
Malcolm Mitchell WR 23 2020
---------------------------------------------
Michael Floyd WR 27 2020 - 5 per

TE/FB (4) - I want Bennett back obviously. But there is a limit: 8m per, if the decline the offer we need to draft a TE

Rob Gronkowski TE 27 2020

Shaq Mason G 23 2019
Cameron Fleming T 24 2018 - TENDER

Patrick Chung SS 29 2019
Devin McCourty FS 2020
----------------------------------------------------------
Duron Harmon SS 26 2022 - 5m per (He is almost a starter. You pay him like one and he stays)

LeGarrette Blount RB 30 2m plus incentives per - 2019 + Use our pick #3.b

LaAdrian Waddle T 25 - Saves $1,000,000. He was inactive all season.
Sebastian Vollmer T 32 - Saves $2,250,000. I think he will retire. He dropped a lot of weight. If he comes back i am happy.
D.J. Foster RB 23. Keep him in PS.

Of course Floyd will say this, he is looking for an employer next year.. and does not want to close out any options. Coming across as a loyal soldier increases his marketability...

Amendola fits this offense nicely and can play a variety of roles, but 6 million is a tad rich for him. If we cut him it will cost us 1.4 against the salary cap..
