I don't really see the problem. He's correct in that it's very early to be talking seriously about going undefeated. All it takes is one bad game, and the Patriots still haven't even played half their games (7 regular season and 3 postseason to go in order to go undefeated).

I don't think that is really the point. He was speaking as though he were talking directly to the Patriots which is absolutely assanine since on one the Patriots has said boo about going undefeated.

It just showed how frustrated he's getting with the thought of the Patriots going undefeated.

Also, any true professional would never take the threat of their record being broken personally and get angry about it. The man is an idiot.

"Don't talk to me when they're in my neighborhood, talk to me when they're moving in next door...bla, bla, bla".

And this is what causes you call him insane?

Holy crap, do you have thin skin. Dude, those guys have been hounded for years every time some KC or Indy starts at 7-0. They'd like to delay the commentary until the season progresses to something more meaningful.

And don't lecture me about how "it's different this time." They hear that every year. He's just pushing the media back until a later date, so get over it and let him.

Some may say insane, others may say genius.

He's actually using re-treaded lines from the last time when the colts were making a run at it.

I recall him using the 'same neighborhood' stuff back then and it got a lot of play, so he's using it again for the reaction. It's valid and funny and all, but old, tired stuff.

the media is the only one that likes to harp on this each each. the teams doing it never say anything, especially since it's so early.

Is an insane homeless person. Agree? Disagree? Discuss? Judging by his comments on Sportscenter I say insane.

Didn't he do hard time on the rock pile for selling drugs? I'm sure his mind is as sharp as ever.

He's right. They're TEN games away from an undefeated record. They've only played nine. All the talk about "don't call me when you're in town...call me when you're in the neighborhood" is basically saying leave the guy alone until the Pats are something like 16-0 or better.

Although if the Pats DO get to 16-0, I'm dying to see another interview with him. I bet he'll start having the shakes.

Regards,
Chris

Mercury Morris was the first NFL player I knew of, watching games as a kid. I'll never forget his 1980s public service announcement about drugs, too, when in the middle of his 3rd-person narrative, he suddenly switches to the 1st person: "... because I couldn't control my lust for cocaine."

I don't care too much what he says now, I'll tune it out and remember the good old days! (And let's go 19-0!)

It's pretty sad that ESPN had to go to an ex convict to get a comment. The media sinks to a new low.

While I think the smart thing for ex-Phins to do is STFU, I say he has a point. For all this talk and bluster about the Patriots having an undefeated season, fact is they aren't even halfway there yet.

But of course its just the fans who are getting excited - the team's taking it one day at a time

And it's not as much we Patriots fans as it is the infotainment mediots at the 4-letter network, which now flashes a "Quest for Perfection" frame before its Pats story today, hosted as usual by the bland bimbette Wendi Nix, which is about - surprise - going 19-0. PT Barnum was certainly ahead of his time.

I personally thought it was hilarious. He was so defensive and had a look of fear in his eyes. and what made if funnier was the SC anchors reaction in trying not laugh about and failing misrably
