McKenzie signs with Bucs, Wheatley with Jags

Apparently he was offered a spot on the 53-man squad and refused! Pleas tell about any player on our Practice Squad who has ever done that.

I don't think you can trade guys on the practice squad, and even if you could the trading deadline has passed.

What's Belichick going to do, lock him in a room with Three Games To Glory on an endless loop until McKenzie comes around?

I read that as "a team" not "the team" (i.e., Patriots).

Perhaps I'm misinterpreting it, but I didn't read it as turning down BB to be with the Pats' roster; it sounded like he turned down another team to me. If I am not mistaken other former Pats' PS players have turned down opportunities to play with other teams as well.

Even if it was with the Pats he may have been informed or known it was for one week only, or that he wouldn't be part of the 45-man roster.


Whatever the reason, if he doesn't want to be here then why would Belichick keep him? Why would he want to go out of his way to keep the team's 54th player happy if he doesn't want to be here?


Maybe we'll hear more from the St Pete Times or Pewter Report this week once he joins the Bucs. If not we'll send blackglass3 on a reconnaissance mission to get to the bottom of this.

I dont think it was a spot here on the 53.
I think before Tampa signed him a different team wanted to sign him to the 53, and he chose Tampa instead.
Realistically, he could be activated by Tampa in a couple of weeks and it wasnt really a sacrifice

It doesn't say anywhere that the Patriots offered him a spot on the 53.
