Go look at basically any patriots game last season and then get back to me.
RPO yes last year, motion, yes. Basically things that have been around football for decades.

This isn't even the Shanahan system. All Shanahan does is suck the defense in to create mismatches. It's new and neat, but motion, bunches, trips, none of that is new. New England has been doing them out of the Ray Perkins offense for ages.

MAYO??
Oh.. he will brother!

Now you're picking up what I'm putting down My friend. Lol. What I'm getting at is.. the offense was outdated, 4 yard pass here, 5 yards here, run for no gain.. was just horrible at the Bailey Jones QB connection. Your not going to win in the NFL like that. Anyhow I'd just like to see something modern and something exciting that starts with the QB.

I really can't understand what you're saying. With Mac at QB the design of the offense does not matter. Not one bit. The QB is the most important position. You could put him in the offense the NFL will be playing 1,000 years from now, and it wouldn't matter.

Maybe, but can you imagine if we're sitting here in a year after having watched Maye a/o Daniels perform like CJ Stroud for another team?

If you don't try, you die.
I wrestle with that…BUT…statistically more likely we do draft the QB only to see him become the next Zach Wilson, Sam Darnell, Baker Mayfield Version 1, and on and on.

I’d love to see actual % of QB’s taken high in rd 1 that had even a decent career

Ok maybe it's me.. maybe I don't know how what I'm talking about. Last season offense wasn't all that bad right?

Is it possible that Kraft does not want to spend $ on experienced coaches or a gm this year because he had to pay BB 25 million for firing him.

This would explain a lot

Completely irrational to only hire coaches with no experience

I'm not optimistic about us keeping Onwenu. A big mistake.
With rookie qb and new OC, OL is the most important unit. More important than wrs though we need them, too.
If they keep Onwenu. it needs to be to put him at RG. He was a JAG at RT regardless of what PFF says.. They missed so much in terms of missed blocks for him it's ridiculous. Watch both Bills games, the 2nd Jets game and the Giants game..

And don't forget that I'm a HUGE Onwenu fan. I have been since the Pats got him.. So please bear that in mind.

I don’t think he’s coming back.

We NEED to hit on the QB, properly develop the QB, put pieces around that QB, no more excuses Bill isn't here!
The Pats need someone, this year, who can not lose games for them..

As I stated earlier, if they go QB 1st without adding bookend tackles, we're going to have more of the same this year as last year. Frustrations with the offense because the line can't give the QB time. And it won't matter WHO they have there unless it was Brady. And even then I'm not so sure because Brady didn't fare so well with Newhouse at LT.

I'm for MHJ followed by bookends.. MHJ is better than any FA WR and the Pats have a bunch under contract already that they are going to have to eat a LOT of money on in Parker and Smith-Shuster as it is..

Absolutely, you said it. I can't ever remember a time in the most recent history where we need to fill admirably both tackle spots. I remember Marshall Newhouse. What an experience lol. Obviously we go for QB at #3.. I've been saying go tackle, LT at #43 is it?

We can grab some WRs in the 2 and 3rd rounds as well. But yes agreed 100% with everything stated!

I like it.. on NBC sports Boston.. they mentioned the same thing thst we should go after fields.
How about trading pick 3 to Atlanta in exchange for pick 8, their 2nd rounder and Kyle Pitts?

Atlanta gets to take Jayden Daniels, NE picks up an extra second and a starter at TE. They take a LT at 8, then can target an RT and a high end WR2 with their two 2nds. They can send their 3rd or 4th to Chicago for Fields. Sign a WR1 in free agency.

Now you have QB, TE, LT, RT, WR1 and WR2 addressed and still have cap room left to make some other signings, and can go Best Player Available with your 4th rounder onward.
