This isn't much different than every year, other than that the needs are all on Offense.
Lol, no. You don't need a QB1, LT , WR1 and TE1 every year.

Are you making believe that we have only one draft pick. Almost the whole draft will be used for the Offense, with the probable exception of one DL in the first 4 rounds.
I'm replying to a post that alluded to #3 pick and cap space as the magic formula to remove the rot left behind by Bill.

==========
Our Defense is fine. In essence, Jackson will be waived and the money used to re-sign our vets, perhaps replacing Dugger with a free safety.
Our ST will be fine with our all-pro quality returner coming back and a top punter, a solid coverage people. Yes, we will need competition at kicker, but that isn't a cost issue.
Agree.

Not sure why it's surprising that Mayo is having some difficulty filling the OC position.

There are 16 teams changing their OC this season. That's half the league. That means that you have half the teams vying for the limited number of top OC candidates. Out of the 16 teams, the Patriots have by far the worse offense. So yea, no surprise. Mayo will get it done.

Thanks Bill for leaving behind a **** sandwich.

It really is becoming clear just of much of a mess Bill left behind. Cupboard is bare

Because this is how his GM role left the team offensive needs (not counting D). Can't fill all those positions with the #3 pick and $66M

QB1
WR1
LT
RT
T swing
TE1
TE2
TE3
RB2
true, they can't fill all those this offseason. i am not sure how many holes on average a team has to fill in the offseason. i think one of the current te's should be ok to stick around but yeah,i wish they would have added one in tbe draft last year.

No exactly. I don't doubt their fathers helped them to get a coaching job in the NFL. I think the difference, at least to me, is that both these guys started their NFL careers after coaching in college and then hired by an NFL team before and after working with their fathers on a few NFL teams.

Scott Turner coached in college for 3 years, then coached with Panthers for 2 years before working as WR/QB coach when Norv was OC for Browns/Vikings/Panthers.

Klint Kubiak coached in college for 4 years, then coached with Vikings for 2 years before working as Asst/QB coach when Gary was HC/Asst HC for Broncos/Vikings.

In addition, both these guys went on to coach for several NFL teams after their fathers retired and are both generating interest for the OC position.

Steve Belichick never coached in college. His first and only job as a coach was with Pats the entire time Bill was the HC/GM. He's also never been considered as a candidate for any coaching position by any other team. In fact, word was he would follow his Dad to ATL had Bill been hired as the HC. That's 100% the definition of nepotisim.

Though I'll acknowledge there was also some level of nepotisim with the other two despite the fact they both cut their teeth in the coaching field years before being hired by their fathers.

As it relates to Mayo's brother, I'm not sure when he started as S&C coach in NE or who hired him.
good points on turner and kubiak.

This is getting ridiculous we Need an OC onboard for the reevaluation process on Offense. A Team that was Dead last on Offense shouldn't be talking this long.

Oh no, the Patriots’ 7th and 8th choices are no longer available.

I’m intrigued by Getsy to be honest.

Just because the results weren’t there in Chicago doesn’t mean he isn’t a good coach. As much as Aaron Rodgers is an A-hole he respects the heck out of Getsy as a coach, and his experience in the Mcvay/Lafleur offense would be a plus. Fields improved under him, and I don’t think Fields is all that good.

As we saw with BB, sometimes coaches don’t have the success until their second crack at the job.

I'm ok w/ Getsy but Getsy + Fields is a no go for me.

If you trade for Fields will have to pay him 40 million plus per year in 2025. Big risk.
Getsy would be OK.

Dear God.
And the rumors about targeting Barkley seems like a foolish waste of cap

Denver will go hard for a QB.
