Mayo's Coaching Staff [Discuss Coaching Candidates Here!]

BB left us with a good defense and the best cap space position of all 32 teams. Your BB hate is in almost every one of your posts.
Yeah, I was on a roll then, but I wouldn't call it hate. And I've actually started to warm up to him a little after watching the first two episodes of The Dynasty.

In truth, Bill was one of the best HCs and I've stated that many times here. I usually phrased it that Bill made less mistakes in a season than some coaches made in a game.

I am also an engineer/management and take detailed notes in meetings. But I've learned that if the other side has a lawyer present, I too need to have a lawyer present.
That's why I wanted our youngest son to become a lawyer 20 years ago.

They didn't constantly expand the offense more and more as Brady evolved.

They absolutely did in the Brady years. But after him? In the last few years we still had a system where the QB and the receivers had to make the same sight adjustments even though they could never consistently get on the same page.

You don't think the offense looked different in 2020 for Cam then 2021 for Mac?

You're changing the goal post to the last 4 years and it's still not accurate. Have a nice day.

Anyone else find it interesting that right after Mayo said Brown was on the staff he said that’s fluid the whole situation is Fluid.
I think that was like we don’t know what you will coach so feel free to find a another gig if it benefits you otherwise we will try to have you do something just not sure yet.

I was thinking what if he worked exclusively as a special teams return specialist coach.

As soon as the new WR coach and assistant was hired…it was pretty obvious Troy will be the new / old PR / KR coach again.

Agee I don’t know what else they would have him do aside move to a scouting role maybe?

Yeah not much left. And may not be 100% an issue with Troy (but maybe close…who knows) …but I think they feel a need to change it all up on offense. And maybe the 2 new guys have more experience coaching in other schemes like WC.

I like everthing the offense is doing unless they trot Mac back out there and don’t take a QB high.

I don’t think my liver can take another season of Mac behind center.

If Troy is good with whatever role Mayo has for him then he can hang around Foxboro as long as he wants.

I must of been off that week. Didn’t know Troy Brown was reassigned to skills development and Tyler Hughes took over as wr coach. I had known Underwood was brought in as an assistant but not the other.

Hughes was announced as the new WR coach at the tail end of the Senior Bowl week. People were wondering if Troy was still with the team. Mayo finally confirmed it.

Troy will be working all over the place, essentially.

Just found out TB80 is back, and I'm PSYCHED!! Love the new role. Swiss army knife like his time as a player. I always thought he should be a slot receiver / returners coach. Jakobi and DD have been really good protégés during his time here.

I'm hoping that DD and Thornton have a half-decent O-line so that whomever is back there at QB has more than 2 seconds to let a play develop.. Being able to hit Thornton on a deep slant so he can use his natural speed would be a thing of beauty.. Or on a post route.

Another former coach that ends up in the college ranks.

I’m looking forward to better coaching from last year’s poor receiving and last year’s almost non-existent OL. Thanksdad fillled the void.

patriots.com still hasn't added the returning coaches like Brian B, Troy and Pellegrino. Maybe they are expecting more changes?
