This thread is all Fluffernutter ... extremely banal.
Some fans trying to make a Ruben out of those ham and cheese sandwiches.

I really don't think most fans that feel this way realize how ugly this is going to get if/when they start losing games due to poor offensive line play, or poor WR play, or poor QB play. The team has alienated itself from the fan base, and this could get VERY ugly very quickly.
Just the bandwagon fan base. Everyone else understands that teams go through ups and downs.

Keep working hard Drake your time will come soon.

Might be at halftime in game one JB have looked that bad.

If they don’t play him because they are afraid he will get injured this organization is in the wrong hands.
Andrew Luck, RGIII. You can **** up a career by putting them behind a line this bad before they are ready to handle it. And this line is worse than those, they can't even snap the ball consistently.

This dweeb is in over his head. He's constantly stuck his foot in his mouth from the jump all the way back starting with his introduction as the coach.

What's worse is is that we're about to be historically bad and it isn't even going to cost him or anyone else their job.

Kraft must of really hated Bill.

Yess Drake... fellow Rookies Caleb Williams - J Daniels and Bo Nix understands the situation too being Starters.

It sure looks that way, doesn't it? It's been a circus and if/when they don't win, they are going to get absolutely hammered by the media and fans.

I think he hated paying BB 25Mill a year after Brady left.

When will JB be pulled? 0-3? 0-4? Because I'll say.. Peppers and the guys on defense will go right to Mayo and put the pressure on him..
The only talking Peppers will be doing is when he’s telling the other team “you lucky we ass.”

If winning 6 Superbowls out of 9 and going to what? 13 title games doesn't earn you your salary then nothing does.

Mayo hasn't earned that same leash. Losing isn't a sin but how they lose will still be on Mayo.

There are plenty of QBs who started right away and waited but sooner or later won SBs. Whether a QB starts right away or sits it takes him time to learn. If sitting is such a help why is every other rookie QB this year starting, even on teams who were worse than the Pats last year?
Brady won a SB his first year as a starter. Mahones his second. Both won 3 within their first 6 years as starters after sitting a season. Joe Montana also only started one game his freshmen season and won a Super Bowl his second year as the full time starter.

That's what pisses me off we'll Never see the true potential of Tquan T now because we have QB who's scared and can't throw it deep accurately.
Hut our O-line will sleep better knowing they don't have to protect the “franchise”….

This.

1. Is Maye ready

2. Is the line competent enough to not get him killed.

Then you start him. The record is incidental this year. Maye or no Maye is not getting a playoff spot with this team
I think 1 key. If he gets to the point he can recognize the rush and get out of trouble with his brain, then he's ready mentally. Or academically, as I said earlier.

Here is what you do if you are Mayo:

You tell Elliot Wolf, AVP, Bob Kraft, Robin Glazer, Johnathan Kraft, and whoever else wants to meddle that you are starting Maye and if they don't like it, they can fire you.

You've got all the leverage because the Patriots are NOT going to make themselves look like fools by firing a head coach that wants to play the best player.

But Mayo left his balls in Robin Glazer's purse instead.
It's a never a good idea to piss off the guy that cuts your checks. Even if you can make a power play early on there's always the potential to ditch you. There will be solid HC candidates on the market next year and it will be very easy to ditch Mayo for someone else.

Look at what happened to Flores. Everyone outside the org thought the Dolphins finally found their coach. Inside the org he pissed everyone off and they saw McDaniel was available and pulled the trigger on shocking everyone with a Flores firing.

Bill could make power plays because he was winning Super Bowls, and once he had an extended period of no playoff wins, even that didn't matter.

Whoever is the starting QB at Thanksgiving, I think this is the right move now.

Maye has, according to many reports as well as comments by Mayo, had a terrific camp. But, pre-season and regular season are different things. Brissett is a known commodity (both good and not so good) on NFL gamedays.

If Maye is "the future" (and it looks like he is), then it's smart to let him see, from the best seat in the house, how much faster and more complex D's are after Labor Day. I think, as fans, we either trust the organization to know what the right time is for him to start taking the field or we find another team to support...I know I've stuck with the Pats since 1974 and I'm not planning to bale out now.

I think this is the crux. When we're losing and the fans start chanting for Maye, we'll see how Mayo responds.

One thing that hasn't been talked about is that we know the team is prepared to lose games this year. But how many? I think Mayo survives a 4-13 season. I think he survives a 2-15 season. If we go 0-17, Mayo might be out. He's got to know his own leash only goes so far.

Giving Mayo a pass on a 2 and 15 season is ridiculous.

And yet here we are.
