I was reading NFL Draft Scout.com and they said that Lawson gets eaten up against the run and, because of that, he'd make a horrible down-lineman in the NFL. If that is the case, would he be a candidate for the Pats at OLB? Also, if he has trouble against the run as a down-lineman, does that translate into similar trouble if he's lined up at OLB?

Also, how good is Lawson in coverage?

I watched him play in the senior bowl. His pass rush is very fast; Against the run, he did seal the end well but he also got overpowered on runs right at him, as you would expect. So as a 4-3 end he'll have problems but we don't want him as a 4-3 end. He is nimble and appeared to be an adequate LB. Unlike other conversion projects he has played both DE and OLB and is MUCH much further along toward being a devastating 3-4 OLB. He pursues very well from sideline to sideline.

Turning in two runs of 4.42 and 4.49 at the combine confirms the speed and pursuit I saw at the Senior Bowl, for a guy 6-5 and 245. He is STILL a project however, so I don't think he goes top 15 or maybe even top 25-30 but he is sure to be a high second.

I want him for the Patriots; I just don't know whether Bobby Carpenter who I project to many Probowls as a much more polished guy, can be gotten too...

for the Patriots.

I read an article some where that said Vrabel works out with Carpenter in the offseason. That makes things pretty interesting. I think it was yahoo where I read it or maybe on Boston.com.

Vrabel works out at OSU in the offseason. He works out with Carpenter, Hawk, Schlegel, Youboty, Whitner, and the rest of them.
