I ask to encourage debate and conversation. What is the problem with that?

With that said, Light is a 10 year starter at left tackle who will be 32 in June and is in the last year of a deal. Pats have plenty of prospects and players at RG and LG that would transition better than Light. Mankins (as far as I know) isn't going anywhere.

If people want to make assertions that IMO don't have a lot of validity to them, I will question it.

in what way did you question it? you failed to produce any kind of counter-point......so you really didn't question it in any meaningful way......

The Colts would NOT give up a 1st and 3rd for Mankins. They build their OL through mid to late round draft choices. The one time they went early for an OT, they ended up with Ugoh who has disappointed after an initially good rookie year.

As for Mankins attitude? I don't like it but what can you do when OTAs are generally not mandatory? Now if he threatens to hold out for Training Camp, then I'll be concerned. In that case, I would have to consider trading him for a 1st round pick. But let's not open that can of worms till we get to that point.

I stated my position a post previous to his. He came back with an "expert" opinion that has zero substance or seriousness. Stating that Light is still strong at the point of attack is laughable. I'm not going quibble over it and produce 80 posts.

Guys that play LT for 10 years rarely move to G. Wash-outs like Gallery do.

Seems pretty meaningful and obvious to me.

nothing is mandatory when you aren't under contract.

I hope he doesn't hold his breath or anything. Belichick said this AM he's been a GOOD player for us. My Belichick to English decoder manual says that's borderline the long term contract kiss of death talk. Just ask Asante...

If Mankins has been (only) a Good player for us, I wonder what that makes Kaczur & Koppen?
