PATRIOTS NEWS Mandatory Minicamp 6/9-11

Breaking New England Patriots Team News
Looking at more Raridon tape. I don't care about his limited stats, or past injury - he finds space, and is tough through the catch.
What you notice about all the pass-catchers coming in - is they may not be top speed guys, but they are all very good in traffic, high pointing & contested catch. AJ, Doubs, Hollins, Boutte, Raridon (even Dixon) - are guys who don't avoid contact or shrink in tight windows and bodies around the ball. That is what Maye does - he throws into tight windows, he puts it up to give guys a chance. These WR/TE are Maye guys. While Henry can as well, he's getting older and doesn't love contact. Pop & KW are the speed "in-space" guys. It's a good mix and should be a very explosive offense - as long as Rham can stay fresh & healthy. Because I don't think Hendo will ever thrive as the RB1, he is best in situational role. But Larison could turn into the best all-around RB weapon if everything goes right for him. He's more shifty & explosive than either Miller or Monty.

I'd rather Jacas didn't get on the field before his hamstring is completely healed. I'd rather he lose time in minicamp than the regular season.
He can show up and work with the training staff, learn the playbook, meet with the positional coaches and teammates, etc.

Jacas was reportedly at rookie minicamp but not participating. He apparently missed OTAs altogether.

Also, if he posted a 1.59 10-split on a bad hammy in early April, and still isn't ready to go 2 months later, then imagine what he could do when healthy.

Whole thing does not add up.

I'm sure you're right and the team is lying Felger.

I figured I'd post the roster as it stands, I believe this is correct... though I may have missed someone.

No one would pay Gonzo like the top defensive player in the league. That's currently Will Anderson at $50M AAV ($134M guaranteed). Certainly not the Pats. Any other team would have to trade multiple 1st round picks and more to acquire him, plus 60% above the current top CB contract.

Exactly. I really don't know where people come up with this ****.

From the article:

It seems like his head is in the right place. He had a great opportunity to talk about wanting out, and he didn't take it. He had the opportunity to do a hold-out or a hold-in, he isn't taking it. He realizes he doesn't have a lot of leverage and he's going to have to wait to see how things play out.

Yet, I'm sure the sports talk idiots will find a way to spin it...

He's smart enough to know what he is especially with Brown here

His best shot is to show up, play well, get traded and at least get his salary - I'm sure the Pats prefer to trade him than cut him but they can do so with no dead money so he's aware of that

He and Gonzo are in very different places

Gonzo is risking $120 million to show up and risk injury without an extension. He should absolutely sit out even with a fake hamstring tweak just to keep himself safe.

Boutte is hoping for Bourne type money but he won't get that in an extension from another team. He's on a "show me" year and he knows he's been pushed to the bench at best here

Wouldn't mind seeing a player swap if there is a trade

I agree completely but a player swap is probably a wet dream on a fan website. Reastically a 5th or 6th rounder.
It's not going to be, say, Boutte for Brock Bowers. FWIW, here are the other players who got escalators in this class. I'm not saying it would have to be one of these players, but this is probably an idea of the tier of player you could get.
