Rowe wasent the problem really
He was pretty bad on Philly’s first couple of offensive possessions, but evened out after that. The problem is that the Patriots didn’t have the horses to disrupt Philly in the alignment they were in and yet chose to stick with it anyway.

I know. Then just kept getting burnt. Maybe it is the front 7 s fault mostly but the entire secondary except Gilmore was bad

They had no choice

Butler would get pilloried last season for giving up 1-2 plays, yet we're excusing Rowe?

Not excusing him no but I felt like there were larger problems. That first touchdown against Rowe. He was right there on the coverage, hand in the guys face. The only way he plays that better is by knocking it down. I’ve been groaning my way thru replays to see if I missed any more. Rowe gave up some plays, there’s no doubt he must take some blame but there were others that I thought did a worse job where they failed to make tackles.

NFLN is re-playing SB52, so...

Bump to Page One.

The decision was up to Bill, but I wonder which coach went to him and told him Malcolm shouldn’t play. Two guesses it was one of his kids.

I'll take one guess...you know jete.

Yep. Has to suck to know that you put it all into preparing and executing for that game and the coaching staff, through their decisions and game planning, put the knife deep between your shoulder blades.

Still wtfing this. One or two third down stops, it just goes down on the list of what ifs I guess.

What if Seymour actually got the flags on blatant holding?

What if Harrison knocked it down?

Countless others, but in the grand scheme of things the Patriots still have 5 glorious Super Bowl trophies which as a fan you have to appreciate.

The biggest question now is when is this thread gonna die? My guess is not for a long time since we still talk about sb42 and other shortcomings like they were yesterday. Guilty as charged sometimes myself.

They have 5 but it was a very tough one to take. The players still feel it. One of Brady's best performances ever only to lose because the defense couldn't get one or two stops and i am sure our players feel butler could have made a difference. He plays in almost every game and you sit him in the biggest one of them all. I would still be scratching my head.
