Mac, Wilson in PB Skills Challenge

Here is the problem. The poster has developed a rep on this board as trollish and I certainly wouldn't call him a Patriots fan.

If someone like me or you said, "Wilson kicked ass on that. His arm strength was really demonstrated in that competition. Hope Mac can add a few RPMs on his throws this offseason".

That is an example of not trolling.

But he didn't say anything: "Thoughts? Wilson killed it. Mac's passes succumbed to the wind a lot."

Those are facts. Wilson killed it. Mac's throws weren't as accurate (not sure if wind was the reason but it was windy out there).

As to the poster. He's no Brady lover. Not sure he's a Mac hater. He seems to know a lot about the Pats, certainly more than Mac10. He seems to hold strong feelings about race issues. Maybe I haven't seen enough of his posts to see his purported trolling, but certainly this thread is not trolling.

I don't know man, you and I can agree, disagree and we're always good. The one thing we seem to have opposite views on is the cleansing of the forum so everyone has the same thoughts and there's no criticism of any aspect of the team (a bit of hyperbole here) or it's considered trolling. You've admitted to being a big homer. That's great. Others aren't as much. Others are simply negative nancies.

I honestly have no clue where the OP stands. To me, he's all over the place.

That's him saying that.

That's you saying that with me agreeing with you. His problem is he is new the board and off to a ****ty start at being a Pats fan.

I couldn't care less what his position is on Brady and race issues. No issues there. My issue is a majority of his posts have an overly negative slant on the team.

Yep. I am a homer. Damn proud of it too. That's why i've been on this board going on 4 decades now.

You and I will always be cool but I think you misunderstand me a little bit.

I have ZERO problem with people who think differently than I do and expressing it. NONE. Bash BB. Bash Mac. Bash Josh. Bash drafts. Bash pro-gun, Conservatives. Go for it. I have benefited from those views and I am more of a well-rounded fan of the team because of it. I've also posted criticisms which I have of the team. Granted there aren't a ton of them and they are mostly high-level than *****ing about a 5th round draft pick in 2019

Ian provides this platform for NEP fans to express their appreciation and their concerns for the team. I am in complete alignment with his policies.

What I do have MAJOR issues with as do a majority of legit NEP fans here are people who:

1) Deliberately tweak homers like me (as opposed to debating and intelligently arguing a point) just to be an *******.
2) Personal attacks/Being a jerk
3) Disrespecting the board to the point it becomes unpleasant to be here.

I also have an issue with negative nancies and irrational, overly-emotional, knee-jerk reactions but that I rack up to venting. I've done that too so I can't be hypocritical about it. But to be clear, I have every right to respond to their posting.

Look- We've never met in but I'm the same exact way as a person. If someone is pissing me off, insulting me or what I care about or just being a general a-hole i'm going to let them know I don't appreciate it.

Is that cleansing? I don't think so but if posters fall in the category of 1,2 and 3 i'm certainly not going to just stay silent while something I enjoy or care is getting crapped on.

Mac is a rookie. Wilson is an established vet, and the best deep thrower in the league. Not surprised by the results.

Just like Harry, I believe that a small segment of the Patsfans community secretly want Mac to fail, which blows my mind, if they actually want to see the team success. Many still have an extreme ax to grind with BB and are still angry that Brady was allowed to leave. Others perhaps may have posted negative comments about drafting Mac and feel the need to always be proven right. The obvious difference between Mac and Harry is that the former actually showed great promise as a rookie. We should all want him to make a jump in year 2 and beyond, even if some have doubts that he will.

The guy worked his ass off on and off the field (almost to a fault), said the right things, was by all accounts extremely coachable, showed mental and physical toughness, is loved by his teammates (and was accepted early on as one of their leaders) and by most metrics had a top 15 (all-time) rookie year for a QB. How can you not fully support someone like that and have at least some optimism that he could develop into a true franchise quarterback?

Too bad my guy Jakobi didn't make the PB as he would've killed it against the other WRs. Since Edelman never made, not holding out (too much) hope that Jakobi's going to make it, either.
Jakobi didn’t come anywhere near close to deserving the pro bowl.

It’s pretty simple actually. First older New England fans grew up whining about the Red Sox and the cursed loser mentality was prevalent.
Secondly many people like to talk about the game, don’t know much about it, and want to sound intelligent. How do you do that? You show that you know more that experts by harping on their mistakes (or creating them such as “even I know what play is coming”.) It not only creates an atmosphere where you hope for failure to give you more to complain about but you also elevate yourself to “ open minded, anti-management shill champion of the little guy”.
Pretty much a psychosis.

4 years ago Russell Wilson scored 8 points in the same competition. Came in last against Derek Carr, Jared Goff and Alex Smith.

It's a dumb competition in which you could easily just throw at the short stuff and rack up points or go for the big points. Mac went for the big points

Weird that you post this and not the competition he won where had to throw against actual DBs.
Nah Wilson threw for the 4s early.

Did you watch it?

Ad hominem.

That’s exactly what I said?

Lol strong feelings about race issues.

Nah Macs cool.

Love the pats.

I was just sharing a video.

And his first few passes were all to the right. Velocity.

@RobertWeathers is trying to assert this dominance hierarchy over an Internet forum which is lame as hell, creating the illusion that he gets to select who’s worthy of posting content here and it’s… the internet. I’ve seen his schtick. He could very well be a simp in person.

Not really. I love the team. Keyword = team. I ballwash Troy brown, James white and Josh McDaniels here at least biweekly…. As a counterweight to the brady stuff.

First jersey was milloys

It’s the fans I hate. The teams fine. Btw tb ain’t on the team.

You wanted me banned just cause I pointed out that Edelman had a rape allegation. You could’ve blocked me, and still can.

No agenda in starting this thread.

Edit: I said some xtra stuff that I’ll just leave alone…

Quit crying. Nobody wants him to fail. Just posting something besides the constant sludge of Brady stuff.

My first jersey was Milloys as well. Even named my first dog Lawyer. I miss them both.

Mondre is a good member.

Just because he does not tow the party line that doesnt make him out to be the bad guy. He was right about the video. Clearly Wilson killed it.

So quit moaning that I didn’t and post it yourself.

Your posts don't show it. Sorry. That's the perception I have and others of you. I want nothing more than for you to change it.

If you say there was not intent of trolling then I will believe you.

For the record I never wanted you banned. That would require me baiting you to prove you should be banned and lobbying Ian. I never did those things.

I called you out for a BS post. That isn't a ban-able offense.
