Mac Not Happy With the Groceries

I am somewhat biased on Jimmy since I always liked him but he is what he is at this point. An injury prone journeyman who will turn the ball over and it basically a C+ starter. With that said Mac is a D to D+ starter and I think Jimmy would already have been worth another win this season if he was our QB.
Mac's an F starter, he leads the entire NFL in turnovers. He has sucked.

Reference?

The team traded for Sanu but he hadn't seen the field yet, Brady publicly undressed Jakobi on the field for not running the next progression in a route against Cleveland... then Meyers who was playing 60% of the snaps to that point got benched for the rest of the game and the following two games. Meyers had caught 82% of his targets to that point. He didn't play again until Sanu got hurt.

But I know you hate when anyone disparages the sacred cow or suggests he's human.

Agreed! Myers is a prototype of past patriots players. Worked hard and ended up being a reliable, sure handed WR. He's thriving with Josh in his system. We have no one at WR even close to what Myers can do. Especially against a washed JC Jackson and a JAG Wade at CB. I don't see any reason for hope on this roster at all?
The Raiders suck, they're not thriving at all.

Meyers has 274 yards on the season, we have other players who can give us that type of production or better, we don't have a QB.

Or an Offensive line or any WR'S that can do anything remotely close to what at least Myers can do.. he missed 2 games in protocol and still has more yards than all the patriots receivers. The raiders and patriots both suck.

He's thriving, not they.
Hardly, he's doing what he always did.

He's never had 1000+ yard receiving yard season in his career despite being peppered with targets... but he would save Mac from himself now.

Sounds legit.

The Raiders QB's have a gripe, they rank 11th worst in sack percentage and have allowed 15 sacks.

The Patriots rank 26th in sack percentage, only five teams allow fewer sacks per pass than the Pats.

Since week three the offensive line hasn't been the problem, for reference go read what I wrote about our line after the first two games... I called them the single biggest issue on the team.

Then they got their starters back and ran for 157 yards and allowed zero sacks against the Jets in week 3.

Since then they haven't been the problem... Mac folding like a cheap futon has been the problem.

100% agreed! But did we every see it ending this badly? I've seen people mention 2009.. the 09 team still had talent Randy and Wes on offense still. This team looks they have quit and ha e no believe in BB or each other anymore. They did week 1 and even week 2! I just haven't seen any team that is bad like us actually look like this. Yes a loss Sunday I think RK holds a meeting to put BB and his staff on notice.
I would bet that's already been done.

Ownership has given BB over the years full autonomy to pick/coach players. As we know as long as the results were acceptable. Sadly as great as BB has been his coaching career is ending the way it started.

Agreed, but the line still is the problem. The Jets as good as they are on defense haven't been stout against the run this season. They gave up 200 yards rushing against KC as well. So I don't know what happened to the run game. The line isn't creating holes consistently. Mac has looked lost, disheartened and just down right like he has no belief in the process. It's just best if he gets a fresh start elsewhere, we get a new QB/coach/GM.

No reference because you completely made it up, which is why everyone has pushed back.

He’s on track to post career highs for receiving yards and TDs. Sounds like he’s thriving to me. Who exactly claimed he would save Mac from himself?

...And Brady had Jakobi Meyers benched in 2019, which I said was dumb at the time, and I was scolded by the Foxboro faithful here that Meyers was an UDFA bum...

Reference?

I actually think I remember him stating that at the time... Though I believe the dressing-down occurred not in Cleveland but in Houston, some time after Kneal Harry wimped-out on an in-cut earlier in the game...

Brady was probably frustrated as hell at that point; but he also probably shouldn't have frozen-out Meyers at the same time as Harry.

I think people would be amazed by how much better the line would look with better QB play.

This chart above only highlights how you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

It's also highly conspicuous (dishonest) how you removed the table above it explaining to everyone what the headings at the top define.

Otherwise people would notice how from the Washington game to the Jet's game, Meyers played 45%, 69%, 51% of the offensive snaps.

Then before the Cleveland game they acquired Sanu because Tom was pouting on the sidelines of a 7-0 team after they cut his binkie AB, even though he lied to the team when hired and would have been suspended anyway.

Tom undressed Meyers in the Cleveland game, so Jakobi didn't play the rest of that game. Then he played 1% of offensive snaps the next game, and only got called back into the subsequent Philadelphia game because Sanu got hurt fielding a punt.

Facts and history suck for you.

He might possibly come close to a thousand yards for the first time in his career, if he keeps up this pace.

He's a "good" possession receiver, I said that when he was an UDFA trying out for the Patriots back in the 2019 preseason. That's who he is... a young healthy Mohamed Sanu. He's got everything you want, except inline speed.

The implication that he'd be as productive here in 2023 is suspect at best, the Raiders QB's are playing better than Mac behind a worse offensive line. Mac's the reason Mac is sucking right now... nobody else.

Man you just got exposed again. Meyers was not iced out as you claimed. The chart was screenshotted from my phone and sized to fit every game. Everyone can see the general numbers and production that shows you’re talking out of your ass again. Normal ups and down for a rookie, nothing to support your fan fiction.

It’s literally there ^ in the snap counts Einstein… which you omitted to highlight. But nice try.

Oh yeah. and it was a shared lived experience for those who can remember back that far. Don’t try and create revisionist history.

Saying Meyers wouldn't produce here when that's all he's done in his career is pure delusion.

Also believing if you just change the QB this OL will suddenly stop being the #32 pass protection and run blocking line.
