Can you be specific?

For his career Cousins has a quarterback rating of 102.8 in games decided by 0-7 points. Looking over his career splits I can't find anything that he's particularly bad at.
60-61-2

I love how mad this gets everyone else. It's actually not that much of a lasting accolade, though. Baker Mayfield was #71 last year.

He is a stat compiler who comes up short when it matters. Always has been. You won’t find that in a stat sheet you have to watch the games.

Oh, and passer rating is a horrible stat to define qb play.

You can throw Carr on the same boat with him.

Tim Tebow made it once.

Mac earned the respect he is receiving. This is from peers, not fans.

..But he’s like 8-17 in prime time games. Garbage time stats in a QB-friendly, attacking offense/passing era. I don’t necessarily hate Cousins either. Just being objective.

Cousins is a .500 quarterback with 59 career wins however he does have 20 game-winning drives which is 34% of his wins. He's played for some mediocre teams... Minnesota's defense has been terrible the last two seasons. Cousins lost Diggs after the 2019 season (and we've seen what he's done for Allen) and his play hasn't dropped off. Cousins also has the misfortune of playing in the same division with Aaron Rodgers.

This is a big season for Carr with the expectations being higher now that he has Adams as his #1. There should be a lot of shootouts in that division this season with perhaps each of those quarterbacks having a shot at 5000 passing yards.

See when you have to make that many excuses for the guy you shouldn’t be pumping him.
1) He us a .500 qb. That’s not a good thing.
2) His teams have been mediocre largely because of him. He arrived at a 13-3 team and led it to his coach getting fired.
3) I cannot believe you are blaming weapons when he has theilen, Jefferson and cook.
4) he plays gb twice a year. He’s not a .500 qb because of Aaron Rodgers. In fact his record against GB is 4-3-1 a little better than his overall mediocrity.

Carr sucks. I don’t really care his many yards he throws for when he makes stupid decisions and fails when the game is on the line.

Lot of QBs put up pretty passing stats now, that’s not the bar of being a top qb.

You're a tough grader... Carr sucks? He was receiving league MVP votes at some point. Looking at his career numbers, he's about where I expect Mac Jones to land... not prolific but decent and with low turnovers. I do think there will be a noticeable bump in Carr's numbers this season.

Not making excuses for Cousins, just stating some facts. Aaron Rodgers is an all-time elite quarterback and those players win a lot of regular season games which makes it tougher for everyone else to have a shot at the division title and good playoff seeding. Sort of like every other AFC East quarterback was pretty much f*cked for two decades.

Cousins has had mostly good weapons in Minnesota but he did lose his best weapon and he's not had a quarterback rating lower than 99.7 in four seasons there. He may not be a league top 10 quarterback but he's in the 11-14 range unless you're selling him short.

I'll push back on your comment that "pretty passing stats aren't the bar of being a top quarterback." Is there a top 10 quarterback in the NFL that doesn't have impressive passing stats? I can't even remotely think of one. Give me a name.

Need to see the full list first.

If there are 25 QB’s in the top 100, then being in the 80’s probably means you’re ranked in the lower half of all QB’s.

If there are only 10 in the top 100, then that’s a big deal and shows Mac has arrived in the eyes of fellow players.

If there are only 10 quarterbacks in this top 100 players list then it can't be taken seriously. The top 10 alone must have Allen, Mahomes, Rodgers and Brady. Herbert, Watson, Burrow, Wilson, Murray, and Jackson all belong in the top 25 at least... that's 10 right there. The guy who just won the Super Bowl will be in the top 100. Prescott is making this list too. Maybe Carr and Ryan.

Carr didn’t receive any mvp votes.
You keep citing numbers and I keep talking about play.
The game has created gaudy QB #s.
Do you really thing the best QBs ever are only the ones who play today?
Look at this thread. You think 10 of the best 25 players are QBs. That is ludicrous. 10 of the 25 most popular, talked about, focussed on, are but that’s because you can attach a stat line. Do you seriously thing the 10th best QB is a better football player than all but 15 players at every other position?

2016 Carr received 6 NFL MVP votes (6 votes that should have gone to Brady).

No, but who cares, this discussion is about the top 100 NFL players of 2022.

It's not ludicrous at all. Allen, Mahomes, Brady and Rodgers are 1-4 (or for certain in the top 10). Are you keeping Burrow and Herbert out of the top 10-15? In the NFL the quarterback is that important, especially today, but throughout the history of the league, 8 quarterbacks have won multiple NFL MVPs, whereas Jim Brown is the only non-quarterback to have won more than one. There have been 66 MVP awards and 45 have gone to quarterbacks including 9 in a row and 14 of the last 15. They better dominate the top 100 list.

I wasn’t referring to 6 years ago and I didn’t think you were either.

Yea we disagree that ok qbs are better than great players at other positions.
