Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
Isaac Sopoaga, standing on his locker chair, was overjoyed to be traded to the Patriots, calling it a "dream come true."

Oh, and he did it while standing on a chair in front of his locker.

Secondary takeaway: NFL locker room chairs are strong as hell.

Seems to be a common feeling for incoming players. Of course, Ocho called it a dream come true too...

A great attitude to have for sure. He's a great addition, I know I am happy he is here too.

I think that he's going to fit in just fine with the Patriots, both in the locker room, and on the field.

In football, desire is an important part of overall success, as is the ability to suppress the ego in order to boost the overall team's success. He can do both.

But just as important is overall happiness. A player can suppress his personal feelings, his frustration with losing, with poor situations for only so long before they begin to affect him either in the locker room, on the field, or both. It's human nature. But put a player into a positive situation, a place where he's happy to be, and he will usually thrive. I'd even offer the idea that a positive situation helps injuries at all levels heal faster. When the mind isn't dealing with emotional/mental pain, it can send those resources to deal with physical damage.

But I'm happy to see Sopoaga in a Patriots uniform. That doesn't mean he'll succeed here, or that his presence will help the Patriots get better, but it certainly won't be a distraction, and he has the athletic and mental skills to be solid player on the Defense.

I thnk that this is a VERY good move by New England and that he'll turn out to be well worth the cost to acquire him.

I'm just hoping the Pats put this guy in a position to maximize his talent. Seemed like a pretty good player with 9ers. I'm glad he's glad to be here.

A positive attitude is great. Always willing to get behind a player that wants to be a Patriot.

I like the big fella's attitude. He'll fit right in here on that defense filled with jokers like Chandler, Talib, and Spikes.

With Sopoaga and Andre Carter now onboard, my fears last week about the Pats D losing identity and veteran know-how sans Mayo and Wilfork is lessened.

Sopoaga is happy to be here. The chair he was standing on.... not so much.

Is he happier to be out of Philly or in New England?

I was hoping a change of atmosphere to a team bound for the playoffs and playing for something every week would bring out the best in what the big guy has left, this raises my hopes.

Have you guys seen this video yet?

Patriots Today - Sopoaga checks in

He is hilarious. I love this guy haha

The man is obviously beyond happy to be here. He's apparently spent the drive to New England listening in to, and learning about, the Bill Belichick primer on how to talk to the press.

Man's a quick learner, for sure.

I'm just glad he's on defense. Brady's mind has overloaded already dealing with Hooman's name.

Good. I mean, who wouldn't wanna be a Patriot?
