Looks like Pats getting 33rd pick too

You have almost 12,000 posts and you are arguing with me on this?.

The compensation for Seymour is 2 full season removed.

2009-2010
2010-2011

I dont care if Seymour was traded on draft day 2009, June, July, Aug whatever. Sep. 2009. Who cares. There is a 2 season gap.

BTW, you can only say that Seymour was traded for a first if it happened on draft day 2009 and BB made a pick the same day.

As it ended up being, its equivalent to a 3rd rounder.
How is it equivalent to a 3rd rounder? Just because you made up some magic formula that says every year a pick sits on the table, it goes down a round in value?

It won't feel like a 3rd round pick during the draft next year. And if I were BB, I'd still trade Seymour for this pick. One good season from an aging defensive lineman isn't worth a first round pick, whether it's in the top or bottom 5.
