Coverage #s are from PFF. I couldn't breakdown Jeff Howe or Doug Kyed's coverage stats by weeks (No, I do not pay for this service; it's from my buddy's account so no PFF insults hurled at me )
Prior to Seattle, Ryan's role was primarily the outside #2 CB with an experimentation in the slot with Coleman & Cyrus Jones. Against Seattle he got torched & as well as Coleman in the slot.
Ryan's coverage stats weeks 1-10 (537 snaps):
65 targets 45 receptions 527 yards 3 TDs 0 INTs 108.9 passer rating
After Seattle, Ryan would still be #2 in snaps at CB but his role changed. He now covers the slot on nickel downs with Rowe kicking outside at RCB, similar to how the Broncos use Harris & Roby.
Ryan's coverage stats week 11-divisional round (428 snaps):
47 targets 30 receptions 232 yards 0 TDs 3 INTs 49.2 passer rating
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He's essentially went from burnt toast to excellent with moving into the slot on most downs. The move's also kept Coleman/Jones off the field. As interesting a transformation over the course of one season for a player that I can remember.
