I think he'll get paid more than what the Pats can offer for a #2/3 corner.
I don't think he is being signed as a 2/3. In Pitt he would be the 1
Honestly, if Ryan gets offers only in the $10M-$11M range, I might cover that if I was BB. Ryan's an underrated slot guy and a team needs at least three solid corners these days.Ryan's contract could really justify the Gilmore contract a lot.
14M per year isn't so crazy for a CB these days. To me that is what a mid level #1 starter will be paid in the new NFL with elites making 16 or 17.
I think Ryan breaks 10M.

It's better than having someone worse.Yeah, but that has a way of blowing up in teams faces. Ryan is solid, but he's not a 1. Expecting him to be is a sure way to regret the contract you give him.
It's why NE is NE and the Squealers are the SquealersI love it that the Steelers response to getting lit up like a Christmas tree is to sign Logan Ryan.

Not every team has a scheme requiring a #1 corner. Many don't put a ton of value on corner and play zone all day. Ryan is as good as most players starting on those teams.

When top corners are getting 14 mill corners on teams that don't pay big money for corners will get 9, at least their best one. That's fine, but if that's your scheme, you also don't pay $9-10 mill for a corner(which is what I think Ryan may get in this market). We'll see. If he was going to sign for 4 years/$24mill, I'm sure Bill would keep him around.
I understand you have to pay to upgrade your team and Ryan may be an upgrade to in house options. But, I'm just pointing out that's also how you end up cutting a signing in 2 years because he didn't live up to the contract expectations. Of course, actual terms affect the opinion and expectations.
He should (repeat: should) be a good fit in that defense.

Ryan would be a great fit as the top corner on a zone team.
