Was it just me or did Maroney mysteriously vanish from the game?

Granted Morris did and is doing awesome but what happened to Maroney?

He still looks like he is dancing around back there instead of just hitting the hole. I think if he continues this he will continue to get injured. If he is not moving forward then he is a sitting target waiting to get hit.

he came back in the 4th quarter and ripped off a bunch of good runs.

Thunder and lightning
Morris and Maroney
it's OK

Looked a little tentative at first, but played much better at the end of the game.. 15 rushes for 77 yards is a good nights work.. a 5.1 ypc average is good for just about any back.

He did this a few times in the first half and gain little to no yardage when doing it. Put Sammy in there, who's just a go-forward back, and we got some decent yardage.

I noticed in the 4th quarter, during the long drive, Maroney did very little dancing, but found the openings and exploded forward. That's what we need. Don't need to have happy feet back there.

Plus, I like him getting some rest. Save the legs when we'll need 'em as the season progresses.

Honestly, I think he was being "coached-up" on the sidelines when he disappeared.

Notice that when he came back in in the 4th quarter, there was no dancing or French pastry - he was slashing towards the line.

I think it's just going to be standard to rest him up for a portion of the 3rd quarter.

I just don't like seeing him disappear during the game (3rd Q). Because of last year I am worried about his durability.

And what, pray tell, is wrong with French Pastries?

I'm glad he took the 3rd quarter off. I'm sure it was a coach's decision. His dancing was getting me dizzy. When he came back in the 4th, he suddenly ran straight ahead, hitting the hole with authority. Gotta do that or won't be in the NFL for long.

it's only the second game. I see nothing wrong with keeping him a little fresher for the remainder of the season (17 games). Especially for when we play a team that has a weaker DL and a stronger secondary. Then they can feel free to run him more.

I think the Pats continue to play LM in 1st and 4th quarters and SM in 2nd and 3rd for the rest of the season. It's worked so far.

Good thing Sammy is working out good as a #2 back. Maroney may just need time to work into more reps.
