Apparently the screenwriter for the movie was a big Jets/Joe Namath fan thus why Flash was QB of the Jokes and not Giants.

I watched it after I saw "Ted"....It was worse than I remembered.

It's one of my "guilty pleasure" movies. I watch it pretty much every time I see it on TV. There's just so much to enjoy, from the good (Melody Anderson and Ornella Muti looking good, Queen doing the soundtrack, Topol and Max Van Sydow hamming it up) to the bad (Ming's soldiers squealing like pigs when hurt, many of the costumes) to the ugly (Sam Jones acting), it never gets boring to me.

Muti still looks good.

I agree. Flash Gordon is a "comfort" movie. Its one of those movies that almost self-deprecating and satirical in nature. Sydow, Blessed and Topol are solid actors and they were so over the top- almost intentionally. However, Topol was equally as bad in that James Bond movie..Sheesh.

Seth McFarland should do a parody and have Gronk do the "Football Scene"
