Posting "the front office sucks" is fun though. Fire Mayo. Wolf and Groh have to go. See, I told you, lots of fun.

I think I understand what you're saying. Objective reasoning is like oh let's say cognac or bourbon, it isn't for everyone quite the way torches and pitchforks are

I'm GUESSING that there's more to it, cuz it looks suspect.
Maybe they kept warning him about some stuff, and he ignored them.
We'll most likely never know.

I keep thinking Fantasy Football though.

I think that slug jacobs #75 is worse, thats who they should have cut to make room

My post was mostly tongue in cheek. I think there's more to it than we currently know

That's my read of it Certainly it's more plausible than 'BECAUSE THIS FRONT OFFICE SUCKS!'
Considering the front office has sucked all year, no, probably not.

Rather than be wrong, I'll wait to see what those same decision-makers were thinking tomorrow. That will then lead to another thread where we'll at least have a decision to give us some context to wonder what they're doing. Right now, we have no idea what they're thinking.
Sure we do. They cut a starter to pick up a waiver wire guy.

I don’t expect they are going to explain to you why they thought he was one of our best OL for 12 weeks then cut him instead of his waiver wire backups.
It would be refreshing if they admitted their mistakes but that doesn’t seem likely.

Why is Vederian Lowe playing a similar amount of snaps?

Because that's who they have. Unfortunately.
You wouldn’t keep Lowe as a backup tackle?

Huh? Strange isn’t off pup yet. They filled the roster spot with a waiver wire guy.
Why would you cut your starter and keep the players who were sitting behind him?
This team is in a ****show spiral

Rather than drive myself crazy, I'll wait to see what the real reason is tomorrow. But I'm not lamenting Jordan's departure. I'm going to go on living my life and work on fixing formulas involving tie-breakers, which I'm trying to write out, and that's far more interesting to me than Jordan no longer being here.
I’m lamenting that we have a front office that thought he was the answer and played him 96% of the snaps more than they cut him to keep a different slug.
But we have all the pieces in place right?
We are now up to 5 OL that other teams cut that were better than our pieces.

Cutting Jordan isn’t the problem. Starting him for 12 weeks and rostering backups who couldn’t beat him out is the problem. Appearing to have no clue what they are doing and flip flopping on all of their decisions is the problem.

I cant make excuses for failing to acquire good players and failing to use the ones they have effectively. That we be like endorsing the awful job they have done.

I think you're probably more upset about Jordan's release than Jordan is. Yeesh.

I’m not upset about Jordan’s release I’m upset that it took 12 games of playing him every snap to conclude a waiver wire guy was better, and to come to the realization that the guys they sat behind him are actually better players in their mind.

I’m upset because we have football people who stink at evaluation football players and making football decisions.

Jordan might be happy because he got a reprieve from it.

Of course, but I was just saying that they didn't sit him after committing all those penalties due to having no depth behind him. To your point, he's meant to be the depth. He's not meant to be a full-season starter. But they have to survive the year as best they can with him until they can hopefully upgrade that spot next offseason. But I'd also keep him next season - unless they suddenly acquire an insane amount of talent - because he's at least proven that he can step in if they need him to.

Yep, and in favor of TWO ****ing Un-athletic ****ing BLOBS.

And we STILL don't have a ****ing Swing Tackle on the 53. Not. ****ing. ONE.

#FireRonWolf'sAndAlGroh'sChildrenNOW

You're ridiculous. YOU claimed that Onwenu was an "un-athletic blob" for 2 straight years. Then, without admitting to having been wrong, you started singing his praises.

Go frigging whine someone else.. SHEESH..

If there are reasons outside of his play that were an issue like @maust suggested, that could also provide an explanation. Again, probably going to be a bit before we hear anything. But with five games left, sort of doesn't matter and it would just become yet another footnote to what will certainly go down as a "memorable" season.

I wouldn’t put anyone on the OL on a pedestal over anyone else there. The whole group just sucks and none of them will be missed if they get cut after the season.

It’s not the transaction, it’s what it indicates. Are you not at all concerned about the organizations ability to evaluate players?
Jordans come and go but if the brain trust can’t evaluate players properly we are in trouble for a long time. So far they seem very bad at it, and every week we seem to get more examples.

The word from reported was the locker room as a whole was unbothered after the blowout. I doubt the response to that is to gib to the worst unit on your team, the one that protects the franchise QB and cut a guy who has played 96% of the plays to send a message and put your qb at risk. If that’s the reason I am even more concerned.

I'm assuming they cut him because they felt they had someone better. It's also possible Strange is closer to being ready to play. Just have to let it play out.
But if you're going to replace him with the new guy why cut him and not his backup. Makes no sense unless they want to send a message. But the message I'm getting is desperation.

Gen X'ers and the remaining Boomers

If the message is we felt for 12 weeks this was one of our best OL, most capable of protection our franchise QB, but we wanted to set an example so we are going to keep players who we’ve decide are worse than him, protecting the qb be damned, it’s worse than I thought.
