... and replace it with the Free Agency Draft!

Because I think it would be hella fun to be watching a Draft right now instead of Refreshing internet sports sites every 5 minutes for updates.

As a fan I just find the Draft wonderfully entertaining. So why not two? If I can't have my games then I want some bread.

Just a Springboard Ideas of How to Make This Work.

1. - Best Record Picks First

2. - First round picks are guaranteed Franchise Tag salary for their position.

3. - Players are considered to be Franchise Tagged by the Team that picked them.

4. - Teams can trade Free Agent Draft picks for whatever they can get for them.

Cons:

- Lots of them. But this idea was really just put out there because I think it would think it would be the most fun for us fans. Panem et circenses.

- I imagine there's a way for the Albert Haynesworths of the NFL to guarantee a high paying salary for a year and take that year off.. or for other Players who are drafted where they don't want to play to holdout.

- Not sure how to formulate the guaranteed salaries for subsequent rounds.

- Probably gives Teams too much leverage over Players in the long run.

- And I don't see Players ever allowing it to happen.

All that said.. I really wish we had a Free Agency Draft right now.. even if it meant watching Belichick trade down for the better value picks

Fun idea. But why would you have best record picking first? Maybe have a lottery decide the draft order. I'll bet if they had something like a free agent draft, more players would re-sign with their current teams vs. "testing the waters."
