Lelie Close to Being Traded

I think Belichickfan is right, in that the Pats won't trade one of their own TE's straight up for Lelie. What about a package of guys who won't stick this year (Dan Klecko, Don Davis, Guss Scott, Larry Izzo) for Lelie, with a 3rd party trading their tight end and receiving the Pats players? Wishful thinking, I guess, that someone would trade for our junk...
There's some value in some of those guys. Not a lot but some. We do have a few other tradeable commodities (I DO NOT think they'll be traded but could be), like Faulk, Hill, Cassel, etc. Given that Lelie is probably only going to fetch a #3 or so pick, IMO, we could put something together if we wanted to.

The question is whether Lelie really thinks he's a #1 guy. If so, we aren't interested. If it's been more of a media creation (players say things they don't mean all the time and the media runs with it), then maybe.

I don't believe for a second that the Patriots would even want this guy.

I don't believe for a second that he could fit on this team in any way, being an underacheiver that thinks he's a number 1.

Ray Lewis threads were more valid.

I might see a scenario where the Pats would trade Graham to Denver, who sends Leslie somewhere, to send a defensive player to the Pats. Maybe a LB like Hunter Hillenmeyer or Kailee Wong? What if BB could land Ed Reed for Graham? That would be doable from a Pats perspective, if Baltimore were that desperate for talent at WR and didn't think they'd be able to retain Reed. Wishful thinking... ?

Kailee Wong would a nice addition. Ed Reed is in his final year, and he hasn't shown up to the training camp practices yet.

I agree with Keegs. I have no interest in Lelie on the Pats. I'd rather have Donte Stallworth.

Graham to Denver. Leslie to New Orleans. Stallworth to the Pats.

Leslie and Bethel, could be great buddies in New Orlenas.
